They suspended their starting running back and are know removing red shirt status on freshmen Tony Temple. I saw a lot of people hopping on this play and thought you would like to know the MU program is in shambles. Lot of players not getting along with Pinkel. Atleast thats what the talk radio shows are saying.

Thanks for the info, but it seems a bit extreme to say the program is in shambles when they've played so well the last two weeks.

Stay away from this game.....Mizzou historically STINKS on the road, and they are at a point of disillusionment in Brad Smith's golden-boy season where they will either buck up and start kicking @$$ or impode and underachieve. We'll find out which this weekend. NU has to be frustrated trying to run west coast offense w/ no success, MU still trying to figure out how they were up 17-0 and lost 17-20 to Okie State in Columbia. Too many "x factors" at work here in my opinion. GL

Yes, they played well the last two weeks. Obviously, they did not play well against Troy, but that fact weakens your argument since they have had better performances since then. They covered against UT two weeks ago, and then they would have covered last week if the line had been set at +6 or +7 where the power ratings and situation said it should have been. (OSU was in an exceptional bounceback situation.) The Tigers have exceeded expectations the last two weeks, which is not what teams in shambles tend to do. If a lot has changed since last week, that's something else, but the suspension of a tailback doesn't seem like enough to me.

And now that I think about it, MU pushed three weeks ago and covered the two games before that. What kind of shambles is that?

Here's what I know about this. Damien Nash was suspended indefinitely for public comments made about the play calling in the OSU game. Pinkel was right to suspend him, as a college kid shouldn't be bad mouthing his coaches in the press. On the other hand, I totally agree with Nash as the Tiger's play calling has been predictable and unimaginative all year. It was esspecially bad in the second half of the OSU game as it was at Troy. It is a problem that probably won't be addressed until the end of the season.

By benching Nash and pulling off Temple's red shirt, Pinkel has probably upgraded the offensive talent. Temple is a stud and has been tearing it up in practice. They have left the red shirt on until now because Tony wasn't tearing it up in the classroom.

As far as a play on Mizzou at Nebraska, they are not a good road team. They have the talent to roll over the Huskers but if they continue with the current offensive schemes, they will struggle. The defense is playing great. I can't recommend a play either way.

The program is not in shambles, Pinkel is a good coach and a great recruiter. He needs to forget about his loyalty to some of the people he brought with him from Toledo and upgrade his coaching staff on the offensive side of the ball. This little confrontation may get them off their asses.

Lean to the Tigers on Saturday.
