Is the guy that kills everyone and the old cop guy I cant remember his name right now but are they the same person.

My brother said that apparently the guy that kills everybody was the old cops alter ego.

I saw the movie twice before he told me this and no way I would have ever put that together

No way.

I even read the book before I saw the movie.

That theory has zero merit.

It has incredible merit and jives with most interpretations I've read.

The sheriff is the killer.

I'll dig up a couple of old blog threads from last fall which break it down in nice detail.

No Way, No How ! :ohno:

You're thinking of the Movie, Identity

Which was a GREAT movie.

Even though I had to watch, No Country for No Men about 3 times before I can 100% understand it. *( I need to do this with some movies )

* Because I am a Movie Freak.

With the Movie Identity, I had to Watch it about 12 times. Talk about a Brainbuster

I'd like to hear one example of how Cormack McCarthy was aluding that ***** Chigurgh was the alter ego of Ed Tom Bell.

no,no,no,no,no,no,no he is not the same person

no need to watch it again for that reason, but it is a great movie with a lot of symbolism and you could watch it again to pick up on new things

No, I don't buy that theory at all.

But I am interested in people's opinions on the ending.

One theory I heard was that the bad guy did kill the sheriff (Tommy Lee Jones) when he went looking in that hotel room for him and the sheriff talking to his wife at the end was just a dream sequence.

I don't buy that theory either, but it is interesting.

I like to think that ***** was a symbol of the old, grizzly sherrif's detachment and his dissillusions with modern society.

Also who else thought the ending sucked.

I though the ending sucked. It was a good fairly easy to follow movie with good story telling for the first hour and a half but the last 15 minutes or so was the total opposite. I think the end kind of ruined the movie.

Apparently a lot of people thought the same I did a quick google search to see if there was any evidence to theory of the bad guy and the cop being the same person but all I could find was people complaining about the ending.

Also on movies I saw American Gangster the other day great movie and no weird endings
