You go by points allowed per game?
1.Bears
2.Balty
3.Tennessee
4.Jacksonville
5.Houston
Are those teams still playing?
I advise you look at things differently.
Some of their D is a function of their offensive style.
GL!

I'll have to agree with this post. The game has changed. The top defensive teams no longer are playing this time of year. It's an offensive league. Teams that are well balanced are the most successful. LACH, IND etc

I was on Balty cause I had a future wager, as your're quite aware. I didn't wager the game. And yes, I trust Harbaugh. Much more playoff experience, 10 playoff wins including a super bowl. The Rams coach? 0 playoff wins. Think about it. But the Rams will be ok because they "Coasted" the last 10 games of the season lol. Yup... the Rams beat KC, a team with no defense. So what.

Nice try.
Sure you had them on a future wager but you posted 50 times that they would win for various reasons, over and over and over, possibly influencing normies, new members that look at this board.
And I posted several times that the Chargers coasted the last 4-5 games, they had it made, players do NOT play 100% when they have it made they do not kill themselves when they know they only have to win a game or 2 last 5 and do not cover. SEE: KC, NO, Rams, NE, Chargers last 4-5. Teams will play hard for a bye last week when it makes sense to them.
HA you do not trust a new Rams coach who has demonstrated success, quickly, you trust Garrett? Please explain....

So, since Balt lost you have decided to make comments. How about you talk about the other 3 plays I posted that WON. But that wouldn't fit your narrative, would it. I was 3-1 last week was by the way. I influenced 1 loss and 3 wins. Not bad huh? Lol

In your opinion every bye team has coasted the last 2 months of the season. I'm sorry but that's funny.

Dude you make no sense. You were called out by someone else about the"Coasting" reference aaaaaand never responded. All the teams you mentioned that coasted were playing for playoff positioning until the last game of the season. Be real.

Good luck, people, I am off this anti-Rams thread after this...

IF somehow I am convinced Gurley is 100%, I will go big on them, but I just do not have confidence he will be... so I will be going with a regular wager on them. IF he is 100%, he is the best RB in the league, though yes Elliott is right there. The difference is Goff is much > than Dak as a passer, and the Rams offense is 2019, the Garrett/Linehan led Dallas offense is not going to cut it.

The Rams DL is the best in the NFL (four #1 draft choices Arnold, Suh, Brokhaus, Fowler) and is rested, ready and angry. They have two veteran all Pro CBs who were dinged all year and are back and healthy now. Their D is not top notch but a lot better than the stats, the stats are significantly affected by their offensive style. Like KC. Like NE. And that a lot of the vets did not want to bust their ass once they were 11-2, whatever. Seems like the Saints and Chargers have decent defensive stats despite their high falutin' offenses... good for them.

I am done here.

Info re Rams

McVeagh uses a college style system where he calls in the plays to Goff each snap.

This has worked pretty well for a while but their opponents are now making the obvious adjustment.

They wait until the 15s cut-off [if possible] before setting there d, this means that Goff has to make adjustments based on the look and make a call, which is not his strength. And we then get Jeff Fisher Goff.

This most likely explains the Rams drop off in offensive performance.

Last 18 dogs (postseason) 17-1

Dal is a totally different team on the road. Daks rating drops into the 70's, while Goffs is around 117.

Gurley has been on the shelf for 3-4 weeks. Last 3 zero carries. If hes close to healthy and CJ Anderson can chip in with 5 yds a carry. I think the rams give Dal real trouble.

That said, I think the rams win.......but Dal covers. IMHO, there are a few better games to play. LAC and Ind.

BOL 2 all!!!

The notion anyone of the Rams "coasted in the last five weeks" is nonsensical. Entering Week 17, and for each of the four preceding weeks they had a shot at securing NFC Home Field.

Of far more concern for Rams' backers is Goff's 78 passer rating over the final six games contrasted with Prescott's 102 in the same time frame. While Pokes are a very low INT defense, if Goff hands them a couple that alone could do it as Prescott has a 59/15 td/int ratio in 45 career games with Elliott in backfield

If Goff "carves up the Boys" he will be the first to do it in 18 games so far this year.....Best of luck to anyone founding their wager on that angle

So, next year, when the shill announcers tell you that a team is playing for home field advantage in the 13th week or 14th week, after clinching their division, maybe you will not listen to them.

So you think Suh, making (guess) $12M this year, is going to tackle head first on every play with everything he's got when his team clinched the division and has 4-5 games to go? Sure when there is one left and it is clear, they will play for the bye.

Look at these teams, again, last 4-5 games: KC, Saints, Rams, Chargers, and NE. See how they did ATS. Sure NE and Rams won big last game when they knew they needed the game for a bye.

KC and Rams pounded their opponents (look at yards and first downs), played hard on D after being on cruise control for well over a month. In that mode, teams do not play defense with playoff intensity. Not at all.

-"Rams can't stop the run!!!!"
-"Chiefs can't stop the run!!!!"

Heard that over and over and over, didn't you?

They both crushed their opponents run game. I honestly did not think they would do THAT well, but I honestly thought both team's defenses would far exceed expectations.

I said the same about the Chargers on this site and they crushed Balty, they were coasting, too, until that game no matter what you want to try and tell me.

Today I lean to NE, though as I stated, the real Chargers are playing today and they are talented and hungry.

The REAL Saints should be there today and win by 2-3 TD's.

NFL is offense these days, and teams with great offenses have defensive stats that are misleading, KC and Rams D's are much better than the narrative. Saints D and Chargers D stats are pretty damn good, they seem to be above the fray.
