So many of this ticky tack personal fouls are being called its getting rediculous and 15 yards is a huge shift in field position. There has been a lot of game changing penalties that should not be called. I can live with a bad pass interference call or a bad holding call, but penalizing a guy for going all out is annoying. How are these guys supposed to know where to place there head or stop their momentum when their running at 100%. Last night in the florida st/NC st game the QB was running option, so hes pretty much a RB, and the safety came up and put a good lick on him. The QB popped up and wasnt hurt but NC state got called for helmet to helmut contact which is stupid. Also, all these bullshit late hit calls where the guy has one foot out of bounds and he will get pushed, wont even fall over, just pushed, and there's a flag. I understand there trying to protect players, but these guys know what there signing up for, and are getting compensated very will for the risk they take. NFL and College need to stop playing this mary football and get back to smashmouth football where the refs aren't there to babysit the players. OK, end of rant.....:grandmais
Players should be severely penalized for helmut to helmet blows. Players know when they lead with their helmet, they know it is illegal, and many still do it anyways. These hits are not "patty cake". These hits are not accidental......they are deliberate attempts. I would like to see stiffer fines and suspensions for these barbaric actions.
With small rosters(NFL), key injuries ruin the nature of the game. If you are going to let them "hit" in this day and age(bigger,stronger, faster), expand the rosters and increase the salary cap. Just this week, it was hard for the linemakers to get the #s up until the middle of the week, and they still are waiting on Romo.
