I agree it does not concur with your "gambling terms dictionary" that you got sitting by your computer but some locals that deal only with cash up front refer to juice as HOLDING on to the juice in case of a loss.
Example: Bookie says I need $100 for the bet and $10 for the juice that needs to be HELD on to in case of a loss.
Me and my partners just got use to calling the juice
HOLD MONEY because we know we will get it back if we win.
I agree this could throw a newbie off...my bad.
