With the traffic each property sees, one person getting food poisoning would mean hundreds would get it. In todays "I didn't know I wasn't supposed to golf in lightning" and the recent Taco Bell news, we live in a world of lawsuits, even a small food poisoning scare makes news.
Worked in an ER years ago (91-95) and I'm sure others like DocSlep should back me up. The majority of "real" food poisining comes from the home. Taking anywhere from 8-36 hours to develop, people often have 1-2 meals before the symptoms kick in, and naturally assume it was the last place they ate. Might have been this restaurant...could have been pizza the night before...could have been the hotdog on Freemont before that.
Many people overload their gall bladder with grease and get the "cramps followed by exit through both ends" reaction and assume it's food poisining. Food poisining caused by bacteria such as Salmonella is quite honestly a sight to behold. I've been lucky enough to never have this, but a friend years ago picked it up (poor kitchen conditions at home and he ate a lot of chicken). I saw a special on it years later on discovery channel and they might as well have been filming him.
Here's to hoping you feel better. :toast:
