First off let me say that Vancouver is in a world of hurt, and tonight wont be easy for them.


5th and Final game without Torts behind the bench
Both Chris Tanev +8 and Kevin Beiska +3 out of the line up
Henrik and Santorelli out of the line up - in fact Santorelli had season ending surgery yesterday
Both Hank and Mike were top 5 in scoring on the team, in fact now we have 4 of the top 12 scorers on the team out.

The team style of opening up to create more offense is not working and they could get sliced and diced tonight against the resurgent JETS.

Betting against the fades yesterday went 3-0 these guys are cold I will post as often as I can B/C of forum rules I can't share the forum.


Oh by the way....both Washington and NJ are in B2B 5 in 8 days. Right now I read both those games as ties so I will wait a bit before posting a play
I should also note that I like Carolina so far today that line looks a little low on ST Louis.

yeah Schneider gets horrendous support, although that has been upticking of late (7-1 over the Blues helped). And it looks like Schneider has been confirmed to start tonight, not Brodeur as was speculated.

Eddie Lack confirmed starting for the Canucks tonight. Wish Montoya was starting for the Jets, but it looks like Pavelec is confirmed.

Canucks at a disadvantage tonight no doubt, but i think these Jets are coming back down to earth since they switched coaches. Was Maurice putting something special in the gatorade the first few games? These guys may have been underachieving with the old coach, but they weren't misled world beaters either ...Pavelec still sporting a 0.901 save pct and team is still in bottom half for shots allowed / goals allowed.

good points coffeedrinker, which is why I would have preferred to see Montoya starting as a 'Peg backer. Reality is though, is that the Canucks were partially overachieving in the first part of the season, especially when you consider that Torts leaned so heavily on the Sedins and Kesler. It was just a matter of time before they wore down under those heavy minutes. Now they are without Henrik, and therefore have only about 2/3 of Daniel as a result, and Daniel especially is not the same without his twin centreman. Santorelli gone, and Bieksa out hurts too. I don't think they're going to be consistently as bad as they've been of late, but they aren't in a great spot here against a hungrier Jets team. Then again, I've been a hell of a fade lately...
