Florida's SOS is very overrated and they can run the table.

Out of their 5 total road games this year, today's against UT will probably be the toughest. Their 4 remaining road games are Arkansas, Vandy, and Florida State. And the Georgia "road" game is held in the state of Florida too.

They basically have 2 more tough games this year... Home to LSU (with unproven QB's) and then the Georgia game, where UF will have major revenge.

If anyone is going to come out of the SEC undefeated it'll be UF, eventhough I think Georgia is slightly better.

Then there's the SEC CCG where they'd most likely face LSU again (Alabama's schedule is more difficult than LSU's).

I dont think Florida's schedule is overrated. A lot of people came into this season saying the schedule was in place for the Gators to come out of the SEC. Florida has to play a tough road schedule every other year and this is the off year where they get everyone at home and I think people recognized and said that.

Gators are very fortunate to have all of their tough games at home, AND they are in the year of the SEC rotation where they dont play Auburn or Alabama, which have been 2 Gator Killers over the years.

By the way, I realize the games dont look difficult because they are technically at home, but LSU and Georgia neutral site are two as difficult games left of any team in the country, plus the SEC CG against LSU again or a very impressive looking Alabama, plus little snipers waiting in the road as very live dogs in look ahead spots like a big semi-rivalry game with the Cocks, Vandy may end up being ranked for the first time in 25 years, Ole Miss is a solid team, etc. Including the SEC CG, there are 3 extremely difficult games left (home or not).

The hardest part of the schedule isnt necessarily the teams, but bringing your A game every week.

Miami ended up looking like a tough opponent afterall as they may deserve to be ranked. at UT was no gimme.

Florida played a tougher game today vs about the 7th best team in SEC on the road than USC will have all season

I dont think Florida's schedule is overrated.

And I'm arguing that it is overrated because not only, as you clearly state, is...

this is the off year where they get everyone at home

... but Florida also dodges BOTH Auburn and Alabama this year during the regular season. Auburn's new spread offense could start putting-up points come later this year and we've all seen what Alabama's done thus far.

That being said, this isn't a slight against UF at all, merely a point to make when considering why they could run the table. Being an 'SC fan myself, I realize 'SC is in the same position as UF this year. Their toughest games of the year are at home as well and it also appears to be another down year for the Pac-10, two timing-related matters that help make USC's schedule even easier this year.

By the way, I realize the games dont look difficult because they are technically at home, but LSU and Georgia neutral site are two as difficult games left of any team in the country

Definitely. But, again, UF will have major revenge against both LSU and UGA from last year and I think the LSU game, especially, won't be as tough as it seems on paper with two inexperienced QB's for LSU visiting the swamp for the first time. The UGA game will be the ultimate test of course and eventhough I think Georgia is slightly better that UF, I think revenge for the stunts UGA pulled last year will really fire-up UF and provide the emotional edge. Whatsmore, because of their relatively easy schedule during this 'unusual' year, UF will have a lot more time to prepare for this game than UGA, whereas UGA at no point will be able to look ahead to UF. In fact, the week before having to play UF, UGA will be playing at LSU! Again, these are all small factors that help illustrate just how incredibly fortunate UF's schedule breaks for them this year.

the only reason im saying it is not overrated is because everyone knew it was an easier schedule than years past. it was acknowledged so it wasnt overrated thats all i meant.

Auburn,LSU,bama dont do it for me. Georgia and Florida impressive, both qbs a little wild. I think Georgia d better though, but Fla coaching edge. If I had to pick a team to beat USC Im looking at Oklahoma or BYU. Max Hall off the charts.

If you want to talk schedules, let's examine the Pac 1's USC's schedule. What a cake walk.

For the schedule to be overrated people would have had to make a big deal out of it in the preseason. They did not. Everyone knew the UF's schedule set up very well for them this year. UGA's schedule this year is worse than UF's in '06 IMO.

Once again you show how obsessed with USC you are. This topic is not about them yet you feel the need to bring them up. You need therapy.

you my friend would not think they were overated.

you avatar proves that. Im sorry but even against pitiful tennessee they look slow. UT stunk it up inside the 5 twice and was shitty at tackling on a punt return. take that away and you actually have a game. which is a joke in itself.

max is a good qb...

check his schedule though they have 1, count em, 1 top 25 team on that schedule. and its doubtful utah will be in top 25 at the end. dude you can take the last 11 posters on this thread and probaly get a better team than half of byu's opponents.

Gators don't need to run the table. Just win the east, then win the conference. The sec champ will be in the NC game.

I dont agree. I think SoCal and OU go 12-0. Cant have any losses this year and play in the big game.

Florida looked slow? What kind of drugs were you on during the game? And FYI, Brandon James makes A LOT of people look bad, live in reality. We're the fastest team in the country, put down the crack pipe.

Florida's schedule is set up nicely to run the table. If they win out and win the SEC championship they are in the title game. No one wants to see USC-OK game where OK gets their asses handed to them like a couple years ago. There is too much money and power in the SEC to leave the SEC out of the championship game if there is an undefeated team at the end. Florida has some trap games that they will need to watch out for besides the obvious UGA and LSU. For those of you saying Florida's offense hasnt done much Keep in mind the seal has barely been broken on the play book and the studs Florida has are barely playing. Against UT, Florida shut the offense down completely and just ran basic vanilla plays after getting up 20-0. Why tip your hand on what you have and what you can do? Their competition will be pouring over game film to see what they can find out and they will see just a regular offense that only ran 54 plays and didnt need to RUTS against UT because it was already 30-6. What more can you ask for? UF's defense is for real and as their young players get confidence they are going to be scary good.
