I'm sure most of you are aware of this story.... basically a dude was annoyed at some movie goers, a husband wife, for texting during the movie (think it was actually the previews)... popcorn was thrown and he pulled out a gun, husband was killed...

Crazy...

But then when it came out he was a retired cop... AND someone came forward that this same man at the same movie theater got aggressive with her over texting during previews...

Its one of my biggest pet peeves to be bothered by the movies by others, but this isn't even comprehensible..

Nothing wrong with texting during previews. Seems this Cop was looking for a fight. I know NRA types will jump all over proceeding comment but will say it anyhow - if Cop was not carrying we would not have heard of this killing because there would not have been a killing. Too bad Murdered guy was not carrying, then NRA guys would have been happy, I guess.

i wasn't there so its hard to comment but it is difficult for me to imagine someone texting to the point they deserve to be shot.

from what I read on CNN, they exchanged words, victim threw his popcorn, other guy pulled out a gun and shot him. Cops have already said Stand Your Ground not applicable.

He's probably used to getting away with that behavior from when he was a cop. This is why most people who are cops are so hate-able.

Brilliant. Take the actions of one clearly disturbed individual and use it to generalize a whole population.

Idiot.

Reason 2,331 I haven't been to a movie theater in almost 5 years.

It boggles my mind why people want to pay the exorbitant prices for tickets and food and sit there with a bunch of obnoxious people. I am constantly badgered to go by the family and refuse to do so.

The victim's wife had her hand on her husbands chest trying to break up the altercation when the guy pulled a gun and shot the wife through the hand and killed her husband.

If it wasn't for an off duty cop(unarmed) wresting the gun away from the shooter who knows how much more worse it could have been.

How do we solve our issues these days? Just pull out a gun and kill a guy. Seems reasonable.

What do you mean unarmed? I thought the way to deal with bad guys with guns is with good guys with guns.

More importantly, a little 2 year old girl now has to go through life without her father.

What I don't get is the fact that this guy puts in what 30 years and has been retired for another 20 and living free of responsibility and just relaxing as he slowly ages and decides one day to shoot a guy?

I mean, the thought process of people boggles my mind. I don't even get a 25-year-old shooting another person but this guy? He was free and clear...enjoying retirement.

I will add to this, why not throw a punch? Why immediately go for your gun, other than because you had it on you at a movie theater (which is a whole different discussion)?

Well you probably should do yourself a favor and not think so much.

Excellent point. Guy must have been in a foul mood looking for an excuse to start something before he found it at the cinema. Sounds like one of those guys who you just know is gonna start something when he is drunk.

I thought I heard he went out and got something to drink or to his car and got the gun and come back in but I can't remember

most cops are assholes. Some to no fault of there own, you deal with assholes all day eventually you will become one. this case definitely sounds cowardly to say the least.
