Has anybody else followed the rise of this team. 3 games, 3 outright dog winners. I always enjoy teams making their D1 debuts or teams, such as FAU, that are D1-AA independents that choose to play lower level D1 teams. They have something to prove and everybody takes them lightly. I encourage you guys to watch them closely. Their next game against a D1 foe is Oct. 23 at home against an improved LA-Monroe squad.

Dont post that much but stated it all on the opening post for Hawaii/FAU.

My son goes there and I have been telling everyone to believe in FAU.

3 Games, all on the road, 15,000 miles, living in hotel rooms due to the hurricanes.
Underdogs in each and won every game.

Conditional team this year, would be interesting if they could fight for a bowl.
They play 7 games on the road with the last 3 of the season at home.

How good are they for a Non BCS team in their 1st year?

No matter what it has been FUN.

A major go agaist here...

I don't think Schnellenberger can stop the offense of New Mexico State at this point in the season. I always like bad teams that play their best ball late in the season. It provides a perfect spoiler opportunity for the team, and always a decent size dog for the bettor. I've had NMSU 3 weeks in a row and grabbed +7.5 here. I-AA teams did well in the beginning of the year but have lost both SU and ATS. The two teams being FAU and Florida International. FAU did nothing against Troy State, a team that NMSU beat early in the year.

Again,
New Mexico State +7.5 Wheel it with your top play for a strong reverse. For me that is Eastern Michigan +12 at Kent.

Final Score

It is official...not that anyone would notice, because it seems that on this site, everybody's money is too good to be bet on lower level D1 schools like New Mexico State, LA-Lafayette, and the like. I'm sure next week somebody will make Michigan, or Wisconsin, or Minnesota or some other popular school their "game of the year" and why their selection can't be beat. To me, the lines set on Big 10 are like the NFL: their too damn tight. I always look for the teams and conferences that the bookmakers don't have any time for, and probably wouldn't even set lines for if they didn't have to. I wonder if anybody has the breakdown of the amount wagered on each team at a given sportsbook in LV. At the track, one of the best parts is you can see who else is with you and how many have bet against you. If the amount wagered on a team equaled their odds, Michigan would be a 1/9 chalk pounded down with the help of the bridgejumpers, and New Mexico State would hover somewhere in the neighborhood of 99/1.

In short, this game was really easy. A decent 1-AA team against a New Mexico State team, getting a TD, playing their best ball of the season. The game was never in doubt, they never trailed, complete domination. 35-7.
