Florid/Oklahoma...Suggestions Please!!

Hey all. It's been well over a year since I last visited the forum. Good to see it's still kicking and everybody is doing well.

Here's my scenario and I'm looking for any suggestions.

At the beginning of this season, I took a prop on Oklahoma to win the national championship: $50 to win $250. Well so far so good. However, I'm wondering if I should let this bet ride out, or hedge my bet and take Florida moneyline (-155). This way I risk $77.50 to win $50. If Oklahoma wins, I'm getting back $300, but I lose the $77.50 I risked on Florida ML. If Florida wins, then it's like I never placed the bet, right?

Is it worth it? What do you think? Are there any other bets out there that I can place to cover my ass?

I think you should decide who you like in the game. If you like the Sooners, let it ride with a great payout.

I'm from Florida, and I'm a Florida fan, so I want to root for the Gators. But with money on the Sooners, it's hard to root for Florida to win. This is where part of my problem lies. If Florida wasn't playing, then I may just let it ride. IDK!

My advice: Decide whether you want to win money. If you are Florida fan, let it ride...that way, if Florida wins...it was worth $50. If Oklahoma wins, you win $300 to drown out your sorrows.

As a fellow Florida fan, I will tell you to let it ride. Myself and this entire country are fooled...Oklahoma will make Teebow eat his promise. I'm scared.

I don't see any real downside to hedging your bet here. At worst, you break even. At best, you win a nice chunk of change.

If you don't hedge then, at best, you win a nicer chunk of change. And at worst, you lose money. Seems quite simple to me.

Gators dont see any kind of offenses all year, every qb they have seen this year sucks, Snead is ok and they beat them. Florida could not seperate from overhyped gross overrate Alabama. Oklahoma is better on both sides of the ball. Tebow is not a very accurate passer.

Agree on FL not seeing any kind of offenses all year, but I think Snead proved he is a little better than "ok."

Thanks for the input. My buddy here thinks that Oklahoma is going to beat Florida. This really makes me feel like I need to hedge. You know the whole concept about, fading the public. It's funny how you can follow sports your whole life and be able to pick straight up winners, but that doesn't mean you can pick them against the spread.

With all due respect, Florida does not see the explosive offense talent that the Sooners see week in and week out.
