I've been playing a lot of poker lately, had two royals in the last month.
But this is the first time I flopped one:

Calculating the probability of flopping a royal flush is fairly easy.
Combination(N,R) = N!/ (R! * (N-R!)) = 52! / (5! * (52-5)! ) = 2,598,960
That is the amount of different 5 card hands that can be made with a
52 card deck, not counting the order of the cards. Since there are
4 different suits, ergo 4 different royal flushes, the probability is:
2,598,960/4 = 1 in 649,740
