Fish, did you make any definite plans yet about this weekend? I'm going to the Illinois-Iowa game with Viking611. He's a new poster and a big Iowa fan. We're going to scalp, but we'll have little trouble getting a good seat for a cheap price. We can meet you there if you are still planning on going.

Man, I absolutely love Busch Stadium and would love to go.

Seen many games there having grown up in Iowa............and love the surrounding area.

Brock, I'll send you an e-mail later, and we'll meet up at the game. Then we'll have to go to Papa Del's after the game. I was telling Fish it was the best pizza in the entire world, and I'm sure you had it frequently in college.

I know what you mean. Busch Stadium and Jack Buck are the reasons I became a Cards fan. Maybe you can explain how you fell away and shunned them for the Red Sox.

Brock, the Illini are sorry this year. Just plain sorry. I hated to do it, but I bet a fair amount on Minny last week and made some easy cash. I guess it's good to get destroyed, since it will likely mean that Turner is gone at the end of the year. Bring in Spurrier!

You got one more nightmare left? I hope my Cards can come back, but it isn't looking good. If you lose 2, and the other team gives you 4 errors in each game, then you're in trouble.

Its Pops or no place at all! Thats my motto for Za in Champaign.

Anyway, i have probably had more Papa Dell's then anything else. Its the best, except for Pizzaria Due in downtown Chicago, or the original Geno's East.

Papa Del's is the best I've ever tasted. My brother was in school there a few years ago, and introduced me to it. I've taken several friends there since, and nobody has ever been disappointed.

Brock, the basketball team might be preseason #1, or at least top 5. There is no reason the football team can't be competitive. It's just gonna take a great coach, and we've never had one. I hope we can get Neuheisel, Spurrier, or another big-time coach. I just don't see it happening though.

I hear you on basketball, thats a real saving grace, although i think i would drop dead if they actually won the tournament LOL

Never forget the football game in 1994...Undefeated #1 or #2 Penn St in Champaign and "the drive"...Penn St 96 yards to close the game out and win 35-31. I worked at Memorial Stadium then as a student on the north endzone part of the field taking tickets...most heartbreaking thing i ever saw in person.

Brock, I was at that game too, and I remember it like it was yesterday. Up 21-0 and lining up to kick a field goal midway through the 2nd quarter. Instead of kicking it, we pooch punted and pinned Penn St inside the 5. Two minutes later it was 21-14! But we held on and were up 31-21 with 10 minutes left. Then, it was the best offense in the country vs. the best defense in the country for one last drive. I was absolutely stunned when they punched it in with a minute left. Talk about a broken heart......I don't think I ever will get over that one.

Probably will not make it..........but i have to tell ya...............if the RED SOX win one of the next two games, my RED SOX heart may take over and i may board a plane on a whim to come see the Red Sox possibly wrap it up Thursday.

Plus knowing I can meet up with you guys and seeing the Iowa game on Saturday will be even more incentive.

Your going for sure, right?

Fish, I am undecided for the Cards game right now. It depends on the ticket price. But Viking and I are definitely going to the football game, and Brock has said that he'll be meeting up with us. You've got the cash, so come on up here!
