Wed 2/11 707 Sacramento Kings -0.5 -106 -113 OVER 98 -101
04:35 PM 708 Detroit Pistons +0.5 -110 -103 UNDER 98 -115

Those are the odds for the SACR game in the first half tonite...is it wiser to go with the ML or the 1/2 point? considering a tie at half is a possibility aswell as the fact that we are only caping a half game...is the value of the 1/2 point the same in a first half as it would be in the game?

If you like SACR what is the better line

pk -113
.5 -106

SS - Just out of pure funk, meaning no math or charts. I would lay the .5 -106. and risk the the tie, but save the extra juice.

I am wondering on wether or not the possibility for a tie should factor into the equasion here...if it was a full game...surely I would go the with -106 over -113 even if laying the 1/2???

SS Of course its a factor. I mean the game could fall 52-52 for example at the half. In which case the -.5 -106 is a loser. The only other way for the bet to lose would be for The Kings to lose the first half outright by any score. In that case both King bets would lose. So it comes down to taking a risk the half will not end tied to be able to lay 7 cents less.

I would guess that the stats will show the 7 cents will not be the best option over time.

I'm laying the .5

Good luck

First off, first half NBA has never been an area of supreme expertise for me.

For a FULL game, laying the .5 is without question the right way to go based on my personal numbers.

BUT, we have two major underlying factors confronting just FIRST HALF bettors.

1. A first half can end in a tie and....

2. There is obvious LESS variation in a first half compared to a full game because of less time and less scoring.

Having said that, this is VERY close, but I would concur with the others and say laying the .5 with 7 cents less juice is a SMALL HAIR better.

Either way, it is VERY CLOSE!

I do tend to with Fish and some of the others in this thread. I don't keep a database with first-half numbers, so I couldn't tell you exactly, but it's probably very close either way.
