Take BYU -3.5 Over Ga. Tech

The Yellow Jackets are in disarray after losing 10 players, including star running back Tony Hollings, to academics. GT also lost Offensice Coordinator Bill O Brien to Maryland.

GT Quarterback AJ Suggs, was inconsistent all throughout the season.Combat that with losing top two tailbacks to academics, and tryuing to break in three new Defensive backs, and Coach Chan Gailey should be happy to win five games.

Brigham Young however, will be stronger due to the addition of new defensive coordinator Bronco Mendenhall, who led New Mexico to a bowl game last year and directed one of the best defensive squads in the nation. The defense will be led by defensive end all-star Brad Poppinga.

The Cougars offensive attack will be led by QB Matt Berry, whom started the last five games of the year for the Cougars, along with Marcus Whalen, who rushed for 900 yards and averaged 5.1 yards per carry.

BYU also has the best punter in the nation returning, Matt Payne, who averaged 48 yards per punt last year.

BYU returns 14 starters.

General, will probably be the other way around. Cougs return 11 starters on D. If the Qb comes through, they will be tough. Word is the freshman QB will get lots of playing time on Thursday, as Gailey is fed up with Suggs.

Action- Good call and nice write up. I was with you on this one for a small play. It's nice to get a win in a very poorly officiated game. It's tough enough to beat the other team but then you have to beat the refs as well.

That 90 yr old ref did everything he could to keep that last drive alive for the back door cover. That garbage crew was from the ACC so I feel if you see them again just look to play the 2nd half under because there's no way teams can get into a rhythem when every third play has a flag thrown. There might have been 23 penalties called tonight.
