IMO, the Forum took the absolute correct stance in this matter. And the Forum, unselfish as it is, asks for nothing in return. Except maybe alert us when you guys "send" another runner. We promise not to tell anyone. Scouts honor.

Hey Jake, how was the vacation?

One question for you Jake, what did you find out from the investigation that finally made you pay on this wager?

I just want to say that Goldmedal has paid. They found no wrong-doing with this race. After a long conversation with Jake, I am satisfied with his decision. It took awhile, but he will continue to take my action, if I decide to play more, but bottom line is....... HE STOOD BY HIS WORD.

Well I am glad he paid, but my question was more in reference to Jake saying that the judges at Finger Lakes were investigating that race. As we have come to find out, there was no such investigation. I want to know why Jake had to hide behind the investigation comment until he decided to pay.

I am not being an a$$, I just want to know Jakes thinking process throughout this mess.

themanowesme, there was a investigation into the race after a flood of phone calls from various off shore books. the stewards and track investigators looked at the race many times im sure. a blood test was automatically taken after the horse won the race. the top three finishers from every race get tested automatically. the blood test did come back negative days before some books credited funds, but wether it was stalling on behalf of the books or the simple fact that finger lakes officials did not feel that they had to give those results to the books, im sure finger lakes wants nothing to do with offshore books. finger lakes simply looked into the race because of, again, all these books crying foul.to protect the integrity of the game, im sure once again that finger lakes officials checked over the race.

Herman, that is not the info I received. My understanding is that the judges and officials said there was NO INVESTIGATION. I know about the first 3 finishers getting tested automatically, as my first post in this thread indicates. The judges at Finger Lakes could care less about Jake and the offshore books, as it was stated from the presiding judge at Finger Lakes. The dont owe these offshore books the time of day. The offshore books can cry until they are blue in the face and these judges dont give a damn. You have to remember that the offshore books are the enemy to these racetracks, they are taking away $$$ from thier table and bringing it offshore.

I want to make it perfectly clear that there was NO INVESTIGATION into this race itself. The blood test that these books were hanging there hat on is done after every race run. Do these books wait until the results come back from every single blood test? The obvious answer to that is NO. As was stated many times in this thread, the horse beat a bunch of nags and was given the best advantage to win by his backers. This whole epsiode makes the books look really really bad.

Here is the info I got from another board concerning the so called investigation. If you want to call the judges looking at the replay one time an investigation, then I think you are stretching it. Again this if from another board and not me who did the calling to the Finger Lakes judges.

As I found this topic to be somewhat interesting and suspicious as to how offshore books have handled it I took the time to call and speak to the racing officials at Finger Lakes.

I just got off the phone with the Richard in the Racing Stewards office at Finger Lakes. We spoke in length about the race in question. There is no investigation ongoing nor will there be. Richard stated that they did receive a couple of calls and although they looked at the race replay there was no wrongdoing. He further stated that the horse in question had just recently worked 36 in a 3 Furlong work and that the field was less than spectacular. He stated he has seen many races such as this in his career. Finally he stated that the Stewards office would never commence an investigation brought on by phonecalls from offshore bookmakers

themanowesme, im not trying to get into a chess game with you but i know for a fact that finger lakes (upon many complaints and phone calls from offshore books) did indeed look at the race from many angles and look into the blood work on the horse. i also know that they called in the jockey and asked him what's the deal on this race. nazario alvarado simply told them " i ride hard to win". they called in the trainer mik rolffs, one ex-trainer of the horse and a few other people. finger lakes wants to protect the integrity of the game, so when they receive a complaint of this nature , they will give it it's due. you must have talked to steward richard coin or coyne (im not sure how to spell his name nor do i care) and he must have blown sunshine up your ass. he probably does'nt want the offshore books to know that they are investigating the race because the stewards at finger lakes (rich coin, stuart rainey, dick hanson) actually want everybody to know that they are competant enough to handle the situation. they do have bigger ego's than anybody through the history of the world. the head investigator at finger lakes is a yes man to an absolute asshole investigator who works for the n.y.s. racing and wagering board. the everyday head of security at finger lakes was warned by track officials to leave the lady tellers alone.he was bothering them in funny way's from what i have heard. just so you know im not talking out of my ass the tellers name at f.l. is bev., a very nice lady who will do anything for you. SHAME ON THAT MAN

I do not follow horseracing all that much but finger lakes is 20 min from my house. I go there occassionally ...

does fingerlakes have the reputation of having alot of fixed races?

Also is it a fairly well known track or something? I figured it was small time.

The world would be a whole lot better if everyone
