The fries there are made fresh. They cut the potatoes right there and I agree they don't taste as good as the greasy frozen stuff. I grew up in so cal on In N Out, the very first one opened up where I grew up. We used to get burgers there and get our fries at Mcdonalds. The only way I eat the fries now is animal style, and same with the burger. You have to order them both animal style.
I think you'll like Popeye's better. But, anything is better than KFC.
Top 3 Fast Food Fried Chicken joints for me...Church's is hands above all, then Popeye's and Bojangles is a close 2nd. Bojangles does put a little spice in theirs though that I like...
I wonder why...I'm probably the only white folk in there about every time I go. Doesn't bother me in the least bit. It's reassuring that I'm in the right place when it comes to fried chicken.

I tried it a few times. Thought it was just okay. I gave it one last chance driving from LA to Vegas and just thought yep, my final decision is that it's gross. I know I'm way in the minority. When I was flying to LA, the guy next to me said that every single friend that visits him demands In N Out 5 minutes after landing.
In n out's actually cheaper than Mcdonalds. Red Robin doesn't have the lines that In n out has.
