Finally found a way around the Fanduel & Draftkings fantasy sports ban!

For awhile I avoided weekly fantasy sports because the commercials drove me nuts, but I finally gave in and tried out Fanduel - then I was hooked. After 5-6 weeks of getting the hang of it I finally started winning, only to find out the Attorney General of NY is going to shut down my play.

I have a problem with that. So in addition to signing the petition, which I'm sure will get us nowhere in time for this season, I found a technicality that allows you to still play even if you live in a banned State.

While on vacation in Florida - I was able to play, despite having an account based in NY. The key distinction? Physical location...

So rather than moving to Florida, I thought it was a lot easier to set up a VPN. So I contacted some folks at the largest VPN network I could find and after a few weeks of trouble shooting, we're locked and loaded. I just logged in normally and wasn't to permitted to deposit - clicked on the VPN and no issues!

I asked the company to set up a link for me to track my referrals, so if you appreciate the homework I did here, please use the link below. PM me if you need help getting it set up, but it is pretty straight forward.

Enjoy!

If your location is correct, this wouldn't apply to you, so feel free to ignore this thread.

For those of us in NY, Vegas, etc. - I was pretty excited this worked.

If it doesn't work the company offers a very reasonable refund policy. I used them a few years ago to try and get around my work firewall and it didn't work, they refunded me shortly after I sent an email. I'm no scammer, just enjoy gambling and thought others might find this valuable.

Hah, that's a valid point! To be honest, I didn't realize there was one. My apologies.

The ban in ny is lifted until end of year. I migrated to Draftkings but can play at Fanduel temporarily now as well. Also creating an account and depositing is not really an issue even without vpn. They want you to deposit and never cash out. The problem arises when you win a significant amount of money and want to cash out. If they figure you out.....guess what you get? Nothing. They have fraud departments and such for a reason.

Yes, the ban was lifted, and in NY you shouldn't need the VPN to play on Draftkings - I haven't been using the VPN for that. But on Fanduel I just tried to deposit (after pulling my money out and moving to DK), but I just tried to deposit without VPN and it wouldn't let me. I clicked on the VPN and I was able to deposit. Not sure about how it works in other States as I've only tested NY, but figured I'd put the idea out there and worst case if it doesn't work, the company refunds the $7 or whatever it is.
