I also had the pleasure of working with him. He was a man of a great heart, and discipline-oriented work ethics. The news comes as a shock; it causes reflection. May God bless the family he leaves behind.

I was just talking about him Sat. night with Boyd from the Amon Plaza poker room. Great guy. I didn.t realise he was Argentinian until he spoke with Ariel at our bar and heard the same spanish accent. Fernando was a class act. Great guy. I don't know his family but I wish them the best. I am still shocked thinking about this.

Are they having any type of service here in CR for him?

Some nice words from SBR

06.15.2009 (09:31 AM CST)
Industry loses veteran linesmaker, Fernando
Fernando, who was only in his mid 50s, was best known by players for his years as Lines Director at Hollywood Sportsbook. Fernando was a talented line manager who first gained notoriety for his exceptional ability to set NHL opening odds. He worked with Hollywood for years until the sportsbook was sold to the Sportsbook.com Group in May of 2006. At its peak Hollywood was an A+ sportsbook that, under Fernando, was one of the few sportsbooks to join Pinnacle Sports (SBR rating A+) offering reduced juice. Fernando was a line manager at BetPhoenix at the time of his passing. He reportedly suffered from a heart attack Saturday. We at SBR send our condolences to Fernando's friends and family.

A well respected line manager I only had the pleasure of meeting once in my career. -RIP Fernando.
