I can answer this one.

I use this strategy all the time in baseball 5 innings, WNBA first halves, NBA, and now college.

The reason being is that we live in the world of comebacks and back doors, and now that offshore allows you to parlay first half side selections with GAME totals. So you get the best of momentum of your selection at a lower price and you are able to tie into a game total. Look at 1/2 run lines and how they reduce down a BIG FAVORITE in baseball. Also this strategy allows you to hedge out on 2nd half lines. In this world of offshore we live looking for value and reduced prices and TIMING are very important with so many line and combination offerings that offshore allows us.
