Officially a little worried about my NY Jets total wins under 7.5
Funny, now im a little worried about my Jets over 7 play. I thought if Pennington won the job the jets would be a shoe in for an 8-8 season at a minimum. Was thinkin out of the 8 years he played for the Jets, he had 4 seasons where he played the whole year. The Jets were a playoff team in all four of those seasons. Also, thought the 7 would also be atainable if Clemens had to play due to injury since Mangini now has the personel for the 3-4 defense. Got rid of Robertson (too undersized) brought in Jenkins. Got rid of Vilma (too undersized for 3-4 as well) and Harris will take his place who is a monster in the 3-4. Add pass rushing OLB/DE's Pace and Golsten along with another year of development for the secondary (primarily Rhodes and Revis) who are All Pro caliber and i think the defense will be real tough this year.
Problem last year was they couldnt stop the run or run the ball, so they were always playing from behind. Fanaca should sure up the O-Line between D'Brick and Mangold (who I excpet to be All-Pro ) so the run game should get a boost after those two had a rough second year after Kendall left the team in the pre-season.
I figured if the Jets just took care of the ball they would be a playoff team playing in the AFC East with the AFC and NFC Wests on the schedule this year.
But know with Farve, the upside is HUGE. But the downside? Two of the last three years he has been a turnover machine. Was last year an abarition? He is no spring chicken and he now has to become accostomed to a whole new offense and develop a stride with a new group of recievers. He is Brett Farve, but hard not to forget people were hoping he retired two years ago and said he was on the downslide.
