Fading the PUBLIC (how does this work?)

Unless you know have access to a bookie somewhere, how do you know who the public is on?

Is there a way for anyone to get this information everyday?

Bet with the early move (smart money) Bet against the late move (public money...try and wait til gametime and see which way the line is moving and then bet aginst it..thats the easiest way without having insider knowledge

Don't worry about fading the public, going with the sharp money etc etc. At best fading and following sharps=50%. Fading and following is propaganda put out by losers looking for a sure thing. Fading and following is a desperate act. Think about it, why in the hell would you get involved trying to Capp the public and the sharps?? Only reason would be cause you can't Capp a winner on your own.

Here's a hint; Sharp means common sense. What is the common sense side on the Laker/Houston game tonight? Figure it out and you'll be on the sharp side.

Fading is a tool that shound be used to enhance your own handicapping selections, but fading a public line move is giving you more value for a play since the linesmakers(the real pro's) apparently think a game should bet set at a certain spread..when the squares feel otherwise and move the game 2 points etc.. i believe u very often have a value play on your hands

OK, think about this. You have a known sharp professional on a particular side of the game and then you also know of a lot of recreational players on the same side, which I presume you would refer to as "the public". Now what are you going to do?

all I know is before reading forums about who/what a sharp was and smart money and who squares are lol...its a bunch of shiat!

I never had a problem winning until I started reading the forums, ...I will stick to my own instincts...

I Think it's all about the line you can get. I assume a professional sharp player would take the best possible number, if the lines moves 1 or 2 pts off the line the sharp took, i think there's value in taking the other side, but if we are talking baseball, i would never bet a game if the line moves 10, 15 cents off the line i wanted to take, i would stay away.

Now you're getting it! You're here everyday. I often get the biggest laughs when reading the constant questions about Sharps versus Squares and Fading The Public. There are some very sharp and professional individuals here at the RX, but not many. Those that are, already know it. Those that aren't will never know.
