ND's win wasn't big..it was expected against unranked team. The shutout was shocking but two missed FG's really helped that one.

Its a good idea in theory, but you have to consider the opponent as well. Do you really want to put your $ on Purdue, Wyoming, or BC? Never a good idea to go against the Ducks @Autzen as they can just score at will. Purdue just lost by 21 at home to a MAC team, although this is somewhat of an in-state rivalry game, at least on the Purdue side? USC making the long trip east to BC might be worth a look, too bad they were not smart enough to schedule the kick-off for the crack of dawn. BC sure did not look that great the other night against Pitt, but Chestnut Hill does have a slightly above average HFA. BC also comes in a conference sandwich spot for USC as well, although not sure how worried they are about Oregon St and they do get a bye week off before that game.

Yeah East Caro deserves a look, nice to have an offense with some "punch" to it for these types of situations. Didn't they put a scare into Va Tech last year? Va Tech does have an excellent secondary though and may match up well. Go take a look at the NCAF page over on ESPN and get a look at coach Sark celebrating like he just won a bowl game or something. That does get the fadar sensors going just a bit.

How did East Caro look last week for those that watched the game? I may have been a little too low on them this year with only 9 returning starters. Looks like the game replay will be shown on ESPNU later tonight, will have to record it and take a look.

There's no doubt that USC can beat the breaks off of BC, the question is will they be motivated enough to do so? USC is riding high right now, coming off their win over Stanford on national TV. Now they travel across country to take on a lowly BC team that everyone saw looked terrible in that Friday night ESPN game against Pitt. So in terms of public perception you have one team everyone is in love with and another that nobody wants to touch with a 10ft pole, plus the fact that BC has a little extra time to prepare as well. Guess I'm trying to talk myself into BC, but its kind of hard to do with only 9 returning starters and an experience ranking of #127. In my notes while watching the Pitt game I wrote down, "BC QB stinks" lol probably trying to just have something to keep me off them in the future. I made the line SC -21, so not a whole not of line value there as the line opened around -19. Appears this is scheduled as a prime time ESPN game so we know there should be decent public action on USC, however looks like there already has been some RLM there with line down to 17(70+% on SC) so I would keep an eye on that line and the betting % and if it holds up let the invisible hand of the betting market be your guide.

On the other side of that coin, play on teams who have come off a big upset as dogs on the road and come back home as dogs again the next week. There is a game out there like that this week. But uncle GoSooners is going to give you a homework assignment and make you look it up...

My magic 8-ball is saying "Chippewa"? You think the Cuse could be more focused on upcoming Maryland?

They possibly could be looking forward to Maryland. But I think Villanova took them to OT last week. So they probably aren't taking anything for granted. CMU looked pretty good last week, though they really didn't play anybody. But they were still the dogs in that game. Being big road favorites isn't exactly in Cuse's wheelhouse. The last game they covered by this number on the road is Akron way back in 2010. So I'm at least considering CMU here. I don't really see many games like this throughout the year that fits this trend. Maybe a half a dozen games.

I see someone took out the 7s, down to +6.5 for CMU with early % on the dog.

Figures... None of the games seem to be moving my way this week. Some pretty sharp lines. Cuse only had 320 total yards in that 2 OT win last week. Like I said this is kind of a rare road chalk game for them. I would like to see if CMU gets back their stud WR Davis this week before pulling the trigger on this game.

Huge win over Northwestern and they have a road game with Arkansas on deck.

That game was very physical too.

Big Conference road win, travel across the country to play a team that looked like crap last week in a non-conference game.. Both games were on national television.

I wouldn't touch USC in this game. Talent wise they should blow them out, but its a lot to ask to cover that kind of number considering the intangibles here.
