No....but based on your comments....maybe you should do something else. Because it seems like those involved in national defense and high level personnel disagree with your take on the situation. I tend to side with those in the know.

And there are people "in the know" who disagree.

But, magically, to you, ignorant tard, they don't count.

What is even funnier is that when you type "The actions of GW Bush as president created the conditions for ISIS to emerge and thrive" into google, no actual "interviews" come up.

Want to guess why that is?

And I don't think we should've withdrawn when we did fwiw. Just saying this was not a matter of "A few more years and everything would've been OK."

I agree with that. This never was something that could be solved by the US. I think at first America believed we could follow the post war Japan model.

Ok gotcha. I'll do something else.

You do realize not all national defense members both military or civilian agree on actions taken in the Middle East right? Like, it's complicated and not something a random guy on a gambling forum named Vit can solve right?

ISIS was AQ. AQ would still exist predominately in Iraq had the US not gone to Iraq so to summarize, who gives a shit what Bush did or did not do, a terrorist faction existed in Iraq whether you think it did or not. This isn't graduate level thinking here.

But I should be listening to a random guy named Enfeugo instead of high level govt and military personnel?

Here is how the noted conservative magazine the New Yorker described the rise of ISIS

as the last Americans left Iraq, there came the great uprising in Syria that pitted the country’s vast Sunni majority against the ruthless regime of Bashar al-Assad. Syria quickly dissolved into anarchy. Desperate and seeing an opportunity, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State of Iraq, dispatched a handful of soldiers to Syria, where, in a matter of months, they had gathered an army of followers and had begun attacking the Assad regime. Suddenly, Baghdadi’s group—which had been staggering toward the grave only months before—was regaining strength. In 2013, the I.S.I. became the Islamic State of Iraq in Syria. isis was born.

Why yes, the disastrous Hillary/Obama war of choice in Syria had as much to do with ISIS as Iraq did.But hey, who cares, right?

How about instead you actually provide a reference, liar?

Anyway, I like how the people "in the know" are 2 people who say something you agree with.

Of course you'll see the agreement didn't mean anything. It shows Bush agreed not to leave any forces behind....it's easier to blame Obama. This was in place before Obama was president.

Yes, because problems that Presidents inherit aren't their problems!

I mean, just because there was a treaty expiring that Obama unsuccessfully tried to renegotiate, doesn't mean we can even talk about Obama!!

Unfortunately Obama wasn't president in 2001....he was against the Iraq war....if he was president then...very unlikely we have the massive terrorism problem we have now.

Even Bush knew it was worthless! face)(*^% you can't be this stupid.

Obviously this isn't a movie and there are legitimate challenges to executing this strategy, but we should've just did what we had the CIA do in Iran in the 1950's. Just overthrow and put our own guy in. With the implicit threat that if you try to be a pain in the ass, we'll overthrow you too. Obviously there are numerous challenges to doing this but it is more or less the band-aid we need.

It's just tough for a virtuous country to have that mindset in the 21st century but there is a reason these places don't have democracies. I wish I could be more optimistic about that region but it's a different world.

Their military is terrible too, it's one thing to have a bad army if you don't have resources but these places have tons of oil. That is another thing we underestimated, how ineffective they would be at fighting for their freedom.

You would look a lot smarter if you just screeched " it's obamas fault" over and over again.

Can you tell all the military families waiting for soldiers to come home....that military agreements don't mean anything

LBJ was another classic,

the Vietnam War, no need to elaborate

and the Great Society, which created the dysfunctional inner city family and poverty we have today

to his credit, he passed the CRA which cost him a lot of political blood. Between that and Vietnam, he was essentially forced to not run for reelection

He's the worst. Add the "immigration Act of 1965' to the Viet escalation & the Great Society not even Obama
could match that. If the "immigration Act of 1965' was never inacted Obama would never have been president.
