Trying something new in the NFL and COLLEGE football forums. This is an idea that the RX would like to experiment with for at least this week and see what feedback we get. I like the idea.
You can find a more detailed explanation in the NFL forum of what is trying to be accomplished with this new idea . I will state briefly what it entails.
The idea is to enable the reader/poster an easier way to find AND contribute all the available information on a particular game in one easy to find thread. This could involve anything from the line movements, to injuries, to opinions, etc.,etc.
Hope everyone enjoys and benefits from this new feature. Feel free to provide feedback here in this thread. Good luck everyone.

I think this is a great idea. It's easier for me to follow games if there is only 1 per thread.

agreed ....
I like the new idea ------ a lot easier to look through it this way to find pertinent info than having to sort through a bunch of 100*** & 200*** "LOCKS of the century" which are normally followed up with a 200*** or 400*** bet to make up for the last "Lock"

Great idea, might be best if their was a seperate matchup section forum with strict rules of no bashing etc.... like on other forums.

I REALLY LIKE THE IDEA as well. But I also think there should be a seperate "matchup" forum for it. Strictly opinion/information with no bashing or argueing allowed. State your opinion or share the facts on THAT game. This forum can remain the way it is.

The reason I think that there should be a seperate forum is because if you make every game matchup sticky, the whole first page and then some will be sticky posts and it will never change. If you don't, then only SOME games will be up there.

Who would determine which games are worthy of being sticky?

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Short - right now we do every NFL game and will try and select 5-7 of the "marquee" match-ups for college football. Obviously we can't do all of them so right now while we are testing the idea we will go this way. When bowls come we will have every game featured just like the NFL.

I still like the cappers who put their whole card out there but when someone comes on Saturday and is interested in one of these games there will be informaton readily available for them. Often I come on late and only want to see about a certain game it's easier than scanning 5 pages looking for talk on Miami/Florida or something like that. Thanks guys for helping us along here.

i like the one pick of the week much better. it's much easier to track people that are good and poor pickers and go with the good and against the real poor. had not won until we started this. plus you get to see which games are the best like by many individuals.

I like EverydayGamblers idea. Create a matchup forum, WHERETHE RULE IS YOU CAN ONLY POST INFORMATION RELATIVE TOTHAT MATCHUP. TOP PICK, WEATHER, SOMEONES GOY ECT. NO BACK AND FORTH CRAP,THOUGH.

The problem you have by implementing this into the overall college or nfl forum, is that it will overun the forum's intent and freedom. You will LOSE subscribers to to other posting forums, which their are some good ones arising. This will occur because their will always be 5-7 and 8 on the NFL threads that will always stay at the top of the page , and this will get frustrating for those that like to post, and for those posts from certain people we want to see above and beyond the matchups. And to make some of our top posters have to post under a matchup to be recognized, forget it they will pass, and you will lose posters.

Make a separate forum for game MATCHUPS

Now I would like to address the fact, that OBVIOUSLY THE FORUM HEARD MY VOICE and others and you have corrected the problem with speed and access to all the forums sights. I am having no more problems at all. If this matchup is an attempt to reduce posts, for that very reason. I think there is a better solution. Do not archive posts more than "X" amount of days, and that be the end of it.

Anyways this is NEWPORTS THOUGHTS.

NOT TO BE A DOWNER, BUT I CAN SAY, that if everyone has to sift through 5-7 top threads that stay at the top all the time, it will have an effect on interest and posting from members.

There is something beautiful and valuable about a member slamming in a pick at the last 10 minutes before a game starts, or a halftime thread that only has ten minutes of value. You risk injurying the true gamblers with this approach.

Unless we all had jumbo trons for computers and could see an entire page. We already have big headers at the top of the page as it is with advertising, now 7 threads we have to scroll down. HMMMMMMM

I would suggest a seperate forum for the games. Also, how about threads for games involving the top 25.

I'm for the idea of a Matchup Forum that is moderated and the crap deleted and offenders warned , then suspended. Lets leave the NFL/NCAA forums as is and add a new , spereate MATCHUP FORUM with hopefully lots of games listed. Nick

Don't like the new set-up at all.

If you don't want to read 200* or 400* posts, don't click on them. You know who the "good posters" are and you can click and read whoever you want.

This way fills the top half of the page with posts that don't move. If you are following multiple threads you have to go looking for them again anyway. This almost forces the entire forum to post on your thread since it just "sits" on top of the screen.

I would ask that you create a seperate forum for matchup threads, and leave this board the way it is.

Thanks!
