-- Here are today’s picks with analysis --

St. Louis @ Phoenix
On Wednesday night the St. Louis Blues visit the Phoenix Coyotes for the second time this season. Their first meeting ended in a 2 to 1 win for the Coyotes. The Coyotes have won five of the team’s last ten match ups. The Blues have been red hot lately having gone 8-2 in the last ten games played. The Coyotes on the other hand have been playing hard, but to no avail. They have played five strait overtime games and are only 2-0-2-1 for those games. Phoenix is now 2-4-4 in their last ten games played. The two teams are 5-3-2 against the total for their last ten head to head contests.

On Monday Phoenix announced that center Jan Hrdina will be sidelined up to two weeks with a fractured toe. This injury, however; should not be a factor in tonight’s game. Hrdina has only played for the Coyotes in 4 games since he was picked up on March 11th. He was previously out for hip problems. The Blues are also missing a few front players to injuries. These injuries should also not factor much into tonight’s game as these injuries have been out for several games, and the Blues have done fine without their full roster.

St. Louis gets center Doug Weight back on the ice tonight after a four game suspension for cross checking Henrik Sedin in their 3-2 win over Vancouver. Weight is a key skater for the Blues. He is third on the team with 11 points.

Taking net tonight will be Osgood for St. Louis and Burke for Phoenix. In the last five games played for each goaltender they currently hold a +1.58 and +2.07 goals against average respectively.

Our Expert Power Ratings favor the Blues by -1 point and predict a 2-1 victory for St. Louis over Phoenix. However, considering the recent performances by the men in goal, along with the recent resilience of the Coyotes to take each game to overtime we expect the score to be a 3-2 win for St. Louis in overtime play.

We take St. Louis -0.5 for +105 and Over +5.0 for -105
We are playing both picks at one unit each.

As always, please post any thoughts and information that you might have.
And of course, GOOD LUCK!

Well a +0.00 day is better than a loss. I also however played Minnesota -0.5 and Over +5.0 - both winners. Anyway...

A for the over, I figured the game unlikely to offer either team much of a two piont lead. I counted on the goals to be back and forth. I also counted on there being a first period goal. Both of these ideas, when they happen as described, tend to lead to high scoring game. Both happened. I did think though that there was a good posiblity of a push on the +5.0, but believed there was a greater chance of the total falling on the plus side of five than the under.

Actually, I am a handicapper with several for profit handicapping sites and an online sportsbook. I play several games a day, but I do not have time to late-post every pick 5 mins into the game to prove what I am saying.

Anyway... I can recomend our free picks and provide write ups for them. I can also direct anyone here to my power ratings and stat carts. I can offer advice on using and developing power grids. Even on setting a line. But no, I cannot prove on a daily basis what plays I personally wager. However, I am the lead handicapper at Expert-Picks.com, and if you would like, please visit our records page to see how we have been performing. We will posting this months records at the end of the month. We will also have our current NFL and NHL records posted in a day or two.

BTW: My power ratings hit about 58% of all hockey spread winners. When you adjust the numbers for injuries, momentum, and goaltender... Well the percentage goes up.

We are currently up +17.3 units in the NHL this month. We pulled +9.8 units in the NHL last month. I think we are also up after monday's games in the NFL. We play only 1-5 units per play, and we make 2-4 selections per day.

For those believers out there... Keep in touch I will continue to post information, and over time, you will believe me.

Thanks
