what the hell is everyone excited about? how is this going to help the economy?? this is a friggin welfare check..

It is free money, if you found $600 on the street, you wouldn't complain.

FWIW, I think it is $600 per person who receives a paycheck, so if your wife doesn't work, you only get $600. Not entirely sure though, that is what I heard briefly on the radio this morning.

Your wife gets the cash as long as she is part of your tax return.

If some unknown reason you filed your taxes without her included in your return, and she doesnt work, then no she will not get the $600 for her portion. Likewise, if your children at NOT part of your tax return, then you would not get $300 for them either.

Check that, I was wrong, you get $1200 if you file jointly whether or not your wife works.

Frankly, it is a bunch of shit that people who don't even pay taxes get a "rebate" (rebate from what?) and it is phased out at all, let alone at a relatively low number. F*ing crooks.

We need clarification....from my understanding....

1) Need to make over $3,000 (so wife w/o pay will NOT get $600)
2) This is based on the 2007 tax year.

I hope someone can confirm this cause I'm not positive yet.

this is important cause lots of divorced couples alternate dependents.....married couples will also have a hard time seeing...

I heard $75,000....and I heard another number $87,000 is the $87,000 the cap of the phase out?

The info I have found on this is very vague

You can't tell me the :coke: Cartels won't be seeing a TON of that cash.

I imagine Vegas will have a shitload of "bargains" on just in time for the hand out.

:coke::drink::toast::anichamp4:grandmais:coke: and of course a little:pucking:.

RX bash on the U.S. gov. this summer. Maybe on of the hotels will be soliciting the RX for our patronage.

The wife doesnt need to work at all to get the $600 as long as the total household income is above $6000.

And it is based on how much was earned last year of course AND HOW MUCH THAT YOU REPORT!!

Also for the children, ONLY the person who filed and used that child as a dependent will get that kids $300

so to get this additional rebate, do you need a different form when you file? If so, how do I get one.

Thanks.

Well it is in fact exciting to those making below $150,000 a year. However, most of those people around here probably dont pay taxes anyway!

Yet another dumb comment. Seems they never stop coming from you.

NO...Wrong !

Individual taxpayers would get up to $600 in rebates, working couples $1,200 and those with children an additional $300 per child under the agreement. In a key concession to Democrats, 35 million families who make at least $3,000 but don't pay taxes would get $300 rebates.

You can make ( I think ) Up to $12K a Year and you don't have to File for a Tax Return.

Well how would they get the money if they dont file something? They would basically be unkown to the government. I just thought that they meant people who file a return but get all of the money back by that statement.

Or I guess that at least you would HAVE To work somewhere that takes taxes out of your check is some form or another. It couldnt be a cash job for yearly amount under $3000

You still get a W2, and if any taxes are withheld, you have to file a return to get that money back.
