I have one long column of data that I want to separate into 2 columns and I have googled the shit out of it and can not find an answer.

Basically I have this

a
b
c
d
e
f
g
h

And I want to end up with this

a b
c d
e f
g h

I will love whoever helps forever!!

Let's assume your data is in column A. In column B, you want to make it like this:

1
2
1
2

and then copy that pattern down to the end of your data set using autofill.

Then turn on a filter on column B, filter it to 1. Cut those records out and paste them into a separate workbook. Then filter to 1 and paste that row in the new workbook next to the first one. Make sense?

Actually that way won't work. I guess I'd rank them and then use a mod function. Then filter. Like this. Kinda tricky one.
