For example - If you were +$10,000 for the season would you bet $20,000 on the Super Bowl? The hype and gets the betting juices flowing.

Why as a X-Bookie of 25 years I would see it happen all the time. This would happen also with the Monday Night game. Like the last call in a bar. People have EGO,S and then there are also the degenerate gamblers. Don't tell me you waited 21 weeks to make your largest bet of the season. That's a joke, no reasoning can justify it. Case closed. Ace would not disagree with this statement.I have a serious question as to why people post a Super Bowl pick as their largest bet of the season. In this case the highest bet has been 2 units but Super Bowl 4 units. Is the side, total or team total in this game really the best bet of the entire season? Or do people post it as the largest bet just because it's the last game of the season. I'm genuinely curious.
This is spot on as it's fundamental. I too with a buddy were books in the '90s. We knew several books in the Brooklyn, Queens, Texas, and New Jersey area. Been involved with gambling since the late 80s.Why as a X-Bookie of 25 years I would see it happen all the time. This would happen also with the Monday Night game. Like the last call in a bar. Everything match for abig play …….at a point that Iwant to win the season……..im even with that Minny bet….and if that was not in question. The bet would be $2500……lets say im at $100 player. 1 unit = $100. So a 4 unit play is $400…..no one would say a word…….this bet is a little higher than most…….but for me there will be no question if I win…..the NFL season for 2024-25 will be a winning year. Not a big deal if IM up $2k or down 6k…….this bet is not about the money (maybe a little lol )Why as a X-Bookie of 25 years I would see it happen all the time. I totally understand and appreciate your response. One of the questions I asked was if, per say, you are +$10,000 for this season would you bet $20,000 on this year's Super Bowl? Or would you bet any smaller amount to guarantee a "winning season" as you said in your response. I'm just trying to figure out your thinking before i take in consideration your bet recommendation.Everything match for abig play …….at a point that Iwant to win the season……..im even with that Minny bet….and if that was not in question. It’s all about were you are!! Stocks are the same if im up $10k. You got to keep the profit….be dumb to add more stock and risk if you know there going to have a bad quarter.\\I totally understand and appreciate your response. I get it but it's the same math. It’s all about were you are!! Stocks are the same if im up $10k. You got to keep the profit….be dumb to add more stock and risk if you know there going to have a bad quarter.\\
to get the $10k did you bet 2k a game to get it…..why would you bet 5 times that in the last game…..bad management of the money……but why do some bet 10k a game and than and up 100k for the season and bet 1 million on the Super Bowl……EGO
i for one would not.
Still you have to ask what money means to you
once you have money you dont need it any more
it becomes a game
I know some people like that
I alway say. Put money aside and only use that
if that guy you are talking about +10k. Had a bank roll to lose of 15K. He may say…WTF
each person is different \\
me its a sport and some years I have a hard time spending. Because I got what I need in life.
lot of people. Make $1000 on there job and spend 1200 each week…….those are the ones that will not get ahead in life
70% of the people live from pay check to pay check………. If that person up 10k and dont take the profit. He or she is a fool
only the people in the top 30% can take that risk without losing sleep
that my insight
Wagering comes down to what money actually means to people. If it hurts to lose then it's a gamble. If it never hurts to lose then it's investment opportunities.
Person A can be ready to take the bridge if they lose $1000 dollars when person B treats it like the daily ebbs and flows of the market.
I always laugh when people on this forum get up in arms about wager amounts of other posters. Who cares what people do and how much they say or don't say or do or don't wager.
The main objective of a wagering forum should be for people to share wagering information.
Kaboom wagers $10 a game on average but probably works the hardest to break down games and find angles.
You misunderstood what I'm saying. I just used betting amounts as an example.Wagering comes down to what money actually means to people. If it hurts to lose then it's a gamble. If it never hurts to lose then it's investment opportunities.
