its a neighborhood in the southeast part of brooklyn

it is native american, i think it means "fenced land" which comes from lenape tribe language

its not really a good area

Canarsie is a far-flung section of Brooklyn. In the 1950s-80s, it was a primarily Jewish-Italian low-to-mid working class close-nit neighborhood

The Canarsee Indians were resident when the Dutch settled there in the 1620s.
