Stage one- This is the period were you lose you arse. You love favorites and can't figure out how the #10 ranked team in the nation can only be favored by 5 playing at an unranked team. Teasers are the best thing ever invented to you followed closely by parlays. You blame every lose on a bad call by a ref or ump. You figure you're just getting unlucky.
Stage 2- You're only losing a little now. You now have found out that teasers and parlays are useless. You now realize how important 1/2 point can be in a game. You've figured out that the dogs are great bets and have become a contrarian better. You love when the public is all over a game because you'll be on the other side.
Stage 3- You are winning consistantly. You realize that dogs and contrarian plays are great but there can also be lots of value in the favorites. You know that when a certain coach is up 22 with 2 minutes to go in the game and the line is 28 that he's not sitting on the ball, he's going to throw for the endzone. You've figured out which way the lines will move and always get the best line. You realize that losing streaks are part of the game but you will win in the long run.
Stage 4- You are Shrink or Patrick McIrish.
