Some credit is due, but lets examine who exactly they are beating.

They swept a terrible Arizona team (3rd worst home record) a Padres team that can't score at home, and a Rockies team with the worst road record in baseball.

They will revert to form sooner than later.

Lou has got the Drays playing like champs. Unfortunatley In Spades is right they did knock off some teams not playing that well, but to do it on the road is impressive. They play 3 at Toronto starting Tuesday, then at home for an all Florida series against the Marlins starting Friday. Should be interesting.

You know what they say, rather get hot late then early. You don't win a World Series much less a playoff birth in the 1st H of the season.

this is probably why books still offer them at 1000:1 to win it all even though they are just 2 games below .500

They are catching Toronto at the right time as they have an ailing Delgado and VWells on the shelf. So even if they take this thing a little further, caveat emptor.

Posters- We are speaking about a franchise here that has NEVER not finished in last place!!!

In their ENTIRE history, anytime this team has been able to win a mere THREE games in a row it has been a rarity.

To knock the D-rays ELEVEN game winning streak saying they havent played anybody is actually a HUGE compliment for the D-rays............because these are still the D-rays, a team that has NEVER not finished in last place.

No matter what league or sport you play in. To sweep teams at any level is difficult to do. And the fact that the D-Rays of all teams have won 11 in a row is an impressive feat. Even the Yankees are not able to string 11 wins in a row.

Agreed. They will lose Wednesday night and it will be over. Still impressive though with all that can happen in a baseball game.

We note that this Topic was created by an embittered BlueJays fan....which will make the upcoming 4+ wins versus the sad sack Jays even sweeter....

Off to pack a third place bowl.

Here is the key to this story and one lost upon
most everyone.

The great revival began the day the Rays hired Don Zimmer as senior baseball advisor. Do not make light of the job title. The great baseball philospher, Zen Master Zimmer is in his 50th season of MLB this year. He has been instrumental in helping Lou Piniella, still one baseball generation younger than Zip, arrive at a place of inner peace which is transcending to his players. No longer does Lou suffer torment and angst after a loss. Rather he looks to the next day as another joyful day in the symbiotic relationship that is baseball and life.

BTW and FWIW, 2005 will be the 50th anniversary of Zimmer and the Brooklyn Dodgers finally vanquishing the hated Yankees.

Fish is right. This team never wins nothing. Never anything in a row. Right about this time last year Lou promised DRays he would dye his hair blonde if they won a 4th straight. It was that big of deal for this franchise. I do not care who they are playing, this is baseball. What is the nearest streak to them, 4 games? You just do not sweep that often in bases, let alone on the road, and then on top of that, back to back to back. Amazing, for any club. Everything coming together, especially unheralded pen. Baseball is a win 2 lose 1 or lose 2 win 1 game. Plus the value as they are always dogs. Do not underestimate this squad by its lame last place history. They showed some signs of life last year, and are rounding into form nicely now. Both Yanx and Bosox lost yesterday. DRAys just keep setting new franchise records. Hard to knock that, I would rather profit from it...Best Wishes...OF

To say they have beaten a terrible Arizona team, fine. Add San Diego, Colorado and Toronto in there ... no problem ...

but guy's remember this ...

They are 23-6 their L29 games.

I don't care who you are. That's an impressive record. They are playing teams that are equal and/or better than they are and have a winning record against them.

Give credit where credit is due. I did after tonight. I played the Blue Jays and even though Toronto earned 4 walks in the 1st inning alone, they couldn't score.

How can someone find something wrong with a 12 game winning streak? Is Tampa Bay supposed to play the Yanks and Red Sox everyday? When the Devil Rays were the worst team in the league, that was fine. Now they win 12 in a row, and have a shot at a .500 record and people are saying they played lousy teams. All these teams they are beating were considered their superior one month ago.

It's too bad for Tamp that they got off to such a poor start, otherwise this impressive run would have them right in the mix already. Still a HUGE longshot for them to make the playoffs. Better chance for them to still finish last. LOL
