Come on. This guy lost $4k in 2 weeks and said it would be a miracle if he could come up with $1000 by weeks end, and that he likely couldnt even come up with $500.
This was long before he even dreamed up the "he is a scammer - yeah thats it" excuse. It had to be because he asked the bookie if he could keep betting. " Can I still play because I dont expect to be down much if any at all by weeks end"
Fully 6 weeks after his " It would be a miracle if I could come up with $1000 by Friday" message, he posted on the boards that the bookie was a good guy, and that he knew nothing bad of the bookie.
I dont care if he ever pays, and I dont care if the bookie does anything to him or not but lets call a spade a spade. The guy got behind a little and then started chasing trying to get up. He quickly found himself $4k in the whole, and was still planning to try and cahse his way out of it, when the bookie told him he couldnt play anymore until he paid up. At that point, chasing his way out of the whole was no longer a possibility, so he went searching for a new excuse.
The guy lost the money. He should pay it even if it be through some charity as was offered him. Clearly, this guy doesnt have the money as was shown by his " it would be a miracle" message long before this current excuse was dreamed up.
The person I blame the most here is the bookie. I mean he is trying to run a business supposedly, and is giving credit to some stranger over the internet. Please. What does he think he is going to find on the internet ? The only takers he is going to get is guys who are broke and cant actually post up and play anywhere. I mean if the player actually had money, why would he be playing through some internet bookie ? The only reason for it is that he didnt have the money to post up anywhere. Of course the player is going to turn out to be a stiff.
Anyone who is thinking of offering players credit over the internet should read that credit article posted on page #1. "why would I ever offer credit to some guy whose best credential is that he has way too much time on his hands to be posting on all the boards all day" How true.
