[h=1]Every NFL team's record against the spread[/h]Dave Tuley
ESPN Staff Writer

LAS VEGAS - The Dallas Cowboys failed to cover the spread for the second straight game, but are still an impressive 9-2-1 ATS and atop the NFL ATS Standings.
The Cowboys beat the Minnesota Vikings 17-15 in Week 13's Thursday-night opener but were favored by 3 points. That came a week after beating the Washington Redskins 31-26 on Thanksgiving after closing as 6-point home favorites.
The New England Patriots are half a game back at 9-3 ATS after covering as 13.5-point home favorites in their 26-10 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. The Oakland Raiders, New Orleans Saints, Washington Redskins and New Orleans Saints are all 8-4 ATS. The Detroit Lions are the only other team above 60 percent at 7-4-1 ATS, as they've covered four straight games (tied with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the longest current cover streak).
On the other end of the spectrum, the Cleveland Browns have the worst spread record at 2-10 ATS and have dropped a league-worst six straight games (and, contrary to popular opinion, the Browns did not lose in their bye week!). The San Francisco 49ers are barely ahead of them at 2-9-1 ATS with the Carolina Panthers and Cincinnati Bengals next at 3-8-1 ATS.
Seventeen of the league's 32 teams are between 40 percent and 60 percent. Sportsbooks would love to have every team's results closer to a 50/50 proposition. They've done that in league-wide wagering as favorites/underdogs are 89-89-10 ATS through 13 weeks against the ViewFromVegas.com Consensus Closing Lines (that doesn't include the four games that have closed pick 'em). Home/road teams are also 89-89-10 ATS (and doesn't include the three neutral-site games in London and one in Mexico City). Overs lead unders 98-93-1 (51.3 percent).
Speaking of totals wagering, the Oakland Raiders (six straight overs), Washington Redskins (five straight) and the Atlanta Falcons have the best over record at 10-2, as all three went over again in Week 13. Right behind them is the Tennessee Titans at 9-3.
The best under teams would surprise many people, as the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants are both 9-3 with the under after the Steelers beat the Giants 24-14 in Week 13 to stay under the total of 49.5. The Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens were tied with the Steelers and Giants at 8-3 last week, but both went over their totals and dropped to 8-4 along with the Patriots, Rams and Lions (who have a league-high six straight unders).
Note: Records based on ViewFromVegas.com Consensus Closing Lines; teams ranked by ATS records with SU record the first tiebreaker followed by ATS streak.

Just like baseball.

If you at the most profitable baseball teams it's always chalk.

Look at the most profitable xfootball teams all chalk .

But yet it's supposed to be square taking chalk and sharp taking dogs .

That's because you usually outperform the market by winning more than you are expected to.

Not because betting favorites have some type of obvious value.
