I'm not an asshole, and I have lots of friends. But I do shit all the time by myself. Half price day at Busch Stadium? I'm in the front row with comped beers where I can hear the ball hitting the pitcher's mitt when the catcher throws it back to him. My married friends watch it on tv and go to their daughter's ballet recitals.

Plenty of times over the years, not just to fast food joints but upscale restaurants that I enjoyed also. When I lived in Vegas I would visit dozens of local bars where I knew a lot of the help. Those same bartenders and coctail waitresses would I turn visit me although not always alone.
Vegas is a different kind of town in that sense anyway. People go out on their own fairly often to play video poker.

If you're insecure with yourself, I can see why you would always need company - be it at a restaurant, movie, ball game, etc.
If you're self assured and have self confidence, being alone at these public venues shouldn't matter one bit.

if I'm eating alone, it may be because nobody is around or it may be because I'm using that time to recharge my batteries. I need some down time.
Having said that, I go to sit down restaurants because I really enjoy and look forward to good food.

I guess I'm a loser or an A_s then ! What a stupid observation you have ! Perhaps I don't want to eat at the bar. There are a ton of reasons why a person is alone and almost none of the reasons are that He is a loser. I live here in Las Vegas for instance and my wife works from 2 pm to 10 pm. Sorry but I don't enjoy having dinner at 11 pm and I'm not interested in dining at a fast food every night. You think what you want but if I feel your belittling me ... there goes your tip ! :toast:

I was married for a few years and, after the divorce, it took some getting used to. Now, though, it's old hat. I have Hurricanes season tickets and I go to all the games by myself.
The good thing about ballgames is that it's always easy to get a single ticket.

Do you guys who think the only options are fast food or going to sit down restaurant alone not realize that there are things called grocery stores?
At a restaurant you are not buying food, you are paying for a place to sit down, someone to cook for you, someone to do the dishes
After tax and a tip plus gas money and the time spent getting there and waiting it becomes clear to me the only time it would ever be worth it is when you cannot come up with a better idea for a social engagement.
When by myself I'll press a button on the microwave and spend my time with therx or a good tv show
