I started playing poker on 2007, vaguely... online, used to have a coworker that was a semi pro player (has won de Tuesday 50k GTD, and cashed in several LAPT, he also played last year's WSOP) so he used to transfer me $10 to my pokerstars account. This happened 2-3 times until I decided I would deposit to Carbon Poker using Neteller, in early 2008 I deposited $50 and that same day cashed two 1st places for $550 or so (a new player freeroll and a $3 mtt)... a week later I played my 1st live mtt at the Radisson hotel ($10 buy in with rebuys) and finished 1st for $500 and change more... that whole year and 2009 I made several cashes of $400-$500 in pokerstars... bought new computer, flatscreen and a used car with said winnings... it was all fun and games, never going really busto... but spending my bankroll buying things and starting to build up from scratch again ($50 deposit)
On August 2009 or so, I went to a friend's house to spend the weekend (I had 2k in my pocket and had just quit my job, thought I could make it playing cards) we got smashed early, had like 4 8 balls and 40+ beers at home (4 of us), we were jamming in the garage and I decided fuck this we sound like shit I'm playing some cards... I deposited $25 in fulltilt and entered a $0.25/$0.50 NLHE Rush poker table... in a matter of minutes I had $100 in my account, moved to two $0.50/$1 NLHE Rush tables and made it to $400... opened for $1/$2 NLHE Rush tables and made it to $1640 in 3-4 hours, from a $25 deposit...
Our decision at that point was to stop playing, cash out and flee to the beach the morning after... well, I got greedy and played well above my skill set and bankroll, opened two $2-$4 and one $3-$6 NLHE Rush tables... got destroyed in less than hour, blew the whole $1640... proceeded to throw up in disgust from the balcony... my friends were in disbelief and very disappointed (and judgmental lol)... I ended up depositing $600 at once and lost it fairly quickly chasing... went from $3640 total to $1400 in a matter of 2-3 hours...
Stopped playing and decided I'd better drink and call it a night... never slept, too much coke... so at noon I decide to hit downtown San Jose to score more yeyo and open the $1-$2 table at the horseshoe... there I lost $600 more in 2 hours my bankroll diminished to a dangerous $800 or less... basically living expenses for the month (without rent)... but then went on a rush and recovered my $600... around 7pm most of the table decides to move to the Colonial were a bigger game is played (same $1-$2 but people buy in for $500+ not your standard $200...)
I buy in for $1k and was losing $100 and change and I get JJ UTG... I raise to $27 (standard raise with big hands the way the table was playing) I get 4 callers which was the usual that night and the pot is already $111... flop comes 3-5-6... I fire $100 and get reraised by UTG+3 and the other 2 guys fold, I call the extra $200 and a Jack comes... I go all in in guy snap calls with the nuts, 4-7, just for me to make a full boat on the river when another 5 landed... $2000+ pot right there... out of the hole, happy as fuck, kissed the dealer. Asian guy to my left was amazed and kept giving me props and calling me James Dean lol.
Released stress with a working girl (much needed) and in the morning, got some Denny's breakfasts and arrived at my friends to tell the tale, it was beautiful!!!!
By Monday my family filed a missing person report cause I didn't call and my cell was off (didn't have a charger)... I was wasted partying and playing cards for 4-5 days straight... My uncle went to my office just for them to tell them I resigned on Friday lol.
