and just quit if you lose. I'm just about there.. been playing off a 100 $ deposit I made in October. I don't bet that big, but with a poker tourney winning and some lucky breaks I did build it up as much as to a 1000. Down to about 500 now. I'm so ticked off about some games that I've lost(some bad luck, some bad bets, ex: the raps vs bucks game a couple weeks ago.. lmao.) and its too damn stressful I feel like just saying fuck it and going all in and just quit sports betting if I lose. I know you're suppost to take emotion out of it, but I'm having a problem doing that. I really shouldn't watch games that I have money on lol. I started betting 20 $ a game just to have sumthin to make my day go by at my boring ass job. I don't really believe that I am going to make a living off of sports betting, dunoo.. it's been fun but way too much stress lately. Mad becuz I didn't cash out when I was up big of course. Anyways.. I could go on and on with my rant just need to get it off my chest I guess.

Summary : Do u ever feel like just going for a huge bet and just quit betting if u lose? Hopefully I'm not the only one whoever felt like this.:ohno: Thx for reading..:drink: Whos got a good all-in bet for me tomorrow? Leaning Suns, but can't trust those mf'ers :think2:

Don't get down man. Don't go all in either. Suns are playing an early game in Toronto. As much as toronto sucks they play better at home. Plus the suns just lost to timberwolves at home, back to back or not. Suns have been letting weak teams hang around so I don't trust them.

My advice? If you really want out and are sick of it just cash out right now and move onto something you enjoy. A different hobby. Think about the stress you will be free from. It sounds like you aren't enjoying it.

If you have to make a bet tomorrow to go all in, I would bet Steelers moneyline. That's just me though. It's only 500 bucks so what's the harm.

Again, if you really want out and had enough, there's no reason to bet what you have and go all in or whatever. Just cash out what you have and quit. You can use that money to spoil yourself or someone you care about or just pay a bill or something.

Anyways, that's my advice. Don't stress yourself out man. It's just money. Get out if you are sick of the ups and downs and you won't be kicking yourself later on for not doing it earlier.

Take care dude.

I have been there where i thought, fuck this let me bet it all on one big play, and when that play loses (they always do) you will be redepositing at another book with a good bonus and saying WTF did i bet all that on ONE FUCKING GAME!

Thx sumday, really solid advice. I just think I need to be more selective and not bet NCAAB and bring my unit size back down. Everyone enjoys it when they win and don't enjoy it when they lose.. but it's all suppost to be about not getting too high and not getting too low. Still working on it, and I don't want to give up just yet. I do enjoy it, and I'm not really in over my head. I guess I'm just ticked cuz I made sum stupid bets I shouldn't have today, and I am DEFINETLY done bettin NCAAB after watching these kids who I had money on today,:ohno: Again thx for the words sum, appreciate it. Bol to ya tomorrow. Btw: I don't trust Suns either, just one of those damn teams that I always seem to like to bet on. They aren't the same of yester years tho. take care.:toast:

I was just curious if anybody else ever felt like this.

Yes, I'm sure a lot of people have felt like this. I have.

I felt that way after I lost a big chunk of my winnings when the stupid colts lost to the chargers in the playoff game. If you've read my threads this NFL season, you'd see that I was over 85% on my big bets. Made a killing. So why was I demoralized?

1.It was my favorite team that let me down.

2.I was already thinking they had won, they were up, they had the ball and I figured they'd run out the clock and I got it. But no, they ended up screwing up. Those losses hurt the most, when you think you have it, then it's ripped away.(of course the other side of that is wins like when indy came back from about 20 points down in houston to cover -4 in the 4th with only minutes remaining! never forget that game)

3.what the fuck did it matter that I made a killing, hitting pretty much all of my big bets all NFL season? I was spending it as I was going along. Going out, partying, buying shit, girlfriends, etc. I figured I'm 27 and loaded, I'm invincible. Then I realized, wow, dude, I've spent a lot of money. Then the big loss on the colts and guess what? If you look through my threads and see how much and how often I won, pretty much all my big bets that I gave out..I should have about 15, 000 in cash from the NFL season. Guess how much I have left? 7500. 5000 of it I'm putting down on pittsburgh moneyline tomorrow and if that loses I'm down to about 2500.

In the end, it's all a part of gambling. Ups and downs and shit. I like it so I keep doing it. Although it is surely taking it's toll on me watching these games sometimes when you just see these idiots especially in the NBA do idiotic things and you just want to reach through the screen and strangle them.

I haven't followed good money management skills. If I had, I wouldn't have won all that money this season. That Colts win against houston was a huge chase play that won me what I lost that day and a whole bunch.

So whether you use money management or not, whether you chase or not, whether you follow all those so called rules of smart sports gambling or not, it still causes stress and there will still be ups and downs.

If you feel you are truly sick of it, then really, get out and enjoy your life without gambling. I know I'm so engulfed with sportsbetting I rarely see my friends anymore. I never play ball anymore. God. I used to love playing ball 4 days a week or more. I couldnt stay away from the bball court. Even if there were no guys to play pick up ball with, I'd just shoot around for hours and hours. I loved it man. I haven't touched a bball for almost a year now.

Well, there..now I wasted your time with my post. Just wanted to give you a little of my story. Sometimes it helps to hear other people's problems when you have your own problems going on. Maybe. I don't know. Good luck with everything and cheer up dude.

Oh, I see you posted while I was typing up my long post. Haha. Yeah, definitely. We've all been there. That loss that really stings you, discourages you. Hang in there and try to learn from your mistakes. I've learned mine. I got screwed 2 days in a row by the Knicks. So nomore betting on the knicks overs because as much as they like to run up and down they just suck and seem to have shitty low scoring quarters. So that was my recent annoying loss. Everyone has them. You get the lucky wins you shouldn't get too. It will even out. Good luck with everything. You'll be alright.

You're just like 99% of gamblers. 99% of gamblers lose because they cannot deal with the emotions. They lay off a game and they are pissed they didn't bet the easy winner. They lose a game and they are pissed they lost. They chase and are pissed when they lose that one. Then they feel guilt for being so stupid, but the still can't control their desire to make up for their stupidity. Or they win and they feel good.....for about 2 minutes. Then the good feelings go away and they are back to being bored with life. Or they get greedy because the winning wasn't enough.

Bottom line is that winning is easy, if you can separate yourself from you emotions. How hard is it to flat bet and hit 53%, if you have a clue? It's not hard at all. But with emotions, i.e. being human.....it's nearly impossible to win in the long run. Because emotions will beat you on every level. The good ones and the bad ones. You go 7-0 on Sat and think this game is so easy. Then the next week you go 0-7 and can't remember what it feels like to win a bet. It's amazing how easy it is to lose when you are emotionally out of control. And most gamblers are emotionally out of control 100% of the time, even if they aren't actually on tilt.

Just give it up and be happy with life. Or bet for fun and bet amounts small enough that you ultimately don't really care that much about winning and losing. Because gamblers lose money and bookies win, and that's the way that gambling goes.

You are not playing with "house money"

You are playing with YOUR MONEY, earned by YOU through your previous bet selections.

True

In the case of NO LIMIT holdem, it is two fold.

One must control their emotions on the fly in NL holdem.

Sumday, in my opinion youre too hard on yourself. the highlighted part is what gambling is all about. Nice.

Gambling for gambling sakes is sad at least you spend the money. work on your time management and include time for shooting hoops friends etc. i do all my capping early early morning 5:30 am or late late evening. I watch some games but mostly not (only the end, the rest is too stressful). check scores at the end of the day and if i have a winning week i treat myself to clothes and toys. I envy the bold part above. Good Luck.

P.S. nothing as sweet as spending won money

It has taken many years of gambling, and many extended winning and losing streaks, but at this time in my life I can stomach any adversity that crosses my path. Period!
