TTinCo,

Those of us who were against this war, were not against it because we love Saddam. That is a label that certain people like to put on us. It really is a veiled threat. Either we support our gov't in any war it wants to jump into, or we are in love with the enemy. This is the reason why more people dont speak out against this war, because they dont want to be labeled tritors or Saddam lovers.

I dont love Saddam, and I never have. But that doesnt mean I am going to blindly follow George Bush or whoever the President might be at the time. I am not going to just accept him at his word and support sending many young Americans to their deaths just because he says so.

He has lied to us about WMD's. Even the war supporters realize that now. They are desperatly trying to change the reasons for this war and get away from the WMD's. Now Halliburton ( Cheneys old compnay - big surprise ) gets to make several hundred million dollars off this ( and a few million more by "mistake" ). I wonder how many of Halliburtons Executives have children fighting in Iraq ??? NO I dont wonder. I know the answer --- Exactly 0 !!!

Its really easy to live in a world where everything our gov't does is always justified somehow, and everything the other guy does is because he is Evil, Satanic, and Villanous. Unfortunatly, it isnt quite that simple.

Might doesnt make right. Of course we are going to win this war. That sure as hell doesnt mean its a just war.

Well said Danny, and I'm well aware of the Haliburton "debacle".

I was against the war early on, but since it had gone as far as it had, I was very glad to see him finally captured. Now get the people out of there before we lose any more lives. He finished what daddy couldn't, but it cost a hell of a lot of lives.

Now let's get it over with & get everyone home.

OIL INDUSTRY KIDS HERE........

THESE TWO PEOPLE WERE FROM VERY ESTABLSIHED FAMILY'S, YALE GRADS AND STILL LOVED OUR COUNTRY THIS MUCH, HEY DANNY GO TO FRANCE, YOU'D LIKE IT THERE BETTER,

THIS ON FIRST

At Yale University he excelled both in sports and in his studies; he was captain of the baseball team and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After graduation Bush embarked on a career in the oil industry of West Texas. Like his father, Prescott Bush, who was elected a Senator from Connecticut in 1952, George became interested in public service and politics. Coming from a family with a tradition of public service, George Herbert Walker Bush felt the responsibility to make his contribution both in time of war and in peace. Born in Milton, Massachusetts, on June 12, 1924, he became a student leader at Phillips Academy in Andover. On his 18th birthday he enlisted in the armed forces. The youngest pilot in the Navy when he received his wings, he flew 58 combat missions during World War II. On one mission over the Pacific as a torpedo bomber pilot he was shot down by Japanese antiaircraft fire and was rescued from the water by a U. S. submarine. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for bravery in action.

THIS ONE SECOND

He received a bachelor's degree from Yale University in 1968, then served as an F-102 fighter pilot in the Texas Air National Guard. President Bush received a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 1975.

DANNY what if we let saddam invade kuwait and more in the first place where would we be NOW, ?????????????

Bush's greatest test came when Iraqi President Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait, then threatened to move into Saudi Arabia. Vowing to free Kuwait, Bush rallied the United Nations, the U. S. people, and Congress and sent 425,000 American troops. They were joined by 118,000 troops from allied nations. After weeks of air and missile bombardment, the 100-hour land battle dubbed Desert Storm routed Iraq's million-man army

Just like we have invaded countries all over the world.

Just like we have invaded Iraq and there have been suggestions of moving on to Iran, NK, Syria, etc.

I know, I know - when we invade its OK.

Dude, that doesnt make any sense. They are oil industry kids and have had everything handed to them all their lives. I agree with you on that.

They are from well established families, and have never had to do a days hard labor in their life. I agree with you on that.

They still loved our country this much ????

Of course, George W. Bush loves our country. His entire life has been a life of priveledge, but how has he shown that he loves our country ? He has never been in the military. How exactly has he shown this ? By going to Yale and letting Daddy support him until he was 50 years old ????

Germany didnt take France over in WW2 either. They just inserted a puppet gov't that did everything they said. So under your reasoning, that was OK ?

Exactly what I said. When we do it, it is always justified. When someone else does it is is evil, Tyrannous, Satanic, etc.

So, your position now is that it is OK to invade other countries if you think it serves some strategic purpose for you.

I am sure that is more false propaganda like all the babies that the Iraqi soldiers were killing in Kuwait. Which after the war turned out to be lies. More recently, the WMD's that Saddam had, which now he doesnt have but thats OK because now the reason for going to war is because he was mean to the Iraqi people not because of the WMD. And if we had found those WMD's then that would have been used as the reason.

Translation, we invaded for 40 years because it served a purpose for us ( try 60 + years by the way ). You have a very ethnocentric mindset. You dont judge an action from an objective viewpoint. Anything the US govt does will ALWAYS be justified. Anything the other guy does is always evil. Too bad things arent really that simple.

Grabted I am an american and may be somewhat ethnocentric. For a hillbilly in 1860 wanting the confederacy to win the civil war may have been ethnocentric. For a german supporting Hitler may have been ethnocentric etc etc. But at least in America we have the right to express our views, Nazi Germany?? Saddam's Irag ??? he wins with 100% approval, but people are celebrating in the streets.
