Guy hit Tampa today for #24 . He waited 6 days for this pick . Next closest guy is 3 behind . What would you do ? How long do you wait to find a great matchup (knowing a guy is 3 behind) ? Do you find some investors and hedge ?

My mistake , second place is only 1 behind think I would move quick here , can't take the chance of sitting on 24 .

The guy in second place must have lost, he's got a 5 pick cushion right now.

I hope he's out getting a loan for a $500,000 hedge...

If I was him, I will get money from some where, friends, job, etc. and take the gib favorite on a game and in the other side take the ML with all the money that I can get.

It's not a race to 25. Everyone who gets 25 is put in a drawing for the $1 Million if I recall correctly.

He shouldn't worry who is behind him.

Straight off the ESPN website ...

Grand Prize - One (1) Prize:

($1,000,000): The first eligible entrant to accumulate a streak of 25 wins will be considered the Grand Prize winner. Grand Prize winner will win US $1,000,000

Gotta hedge ...

Did they change that? I did that thing early on and I could have sworn in the beginning they said all that get to 25 will be put in a drawing for $1 Million.

I'm guessing they changed that after realizing how hard it was to get to 25.

He had Phillies winning game 5 and he got a push for that. He should have 25.

If you hedge you only do it for $250,000, no $500,000. Half of your winnings of 1 million goes straight to taxes so that leaves $500,000. You hedge half of that in vegas!

I am pretty sure...ESPN place some fine print somewhere about hedge games. Pretty sure he will be disqualify if he hedge games that he pick on ESPN.

I've currently won 11 games in a row myself, but I agree with the bit where I think its only for a chance. This is a copy/paste off their website when I login.

. "Build a streak of 25 consecutive correct picks by Dec. 31, 2008 and you could win $1 million! The most wins each month receives $2,500!"

I underline the word could.....

Please go outside and start dancing in the middle of a busy street. This is the dumbest post of the month of December!

Right, because once the first person does it, nobody else wins the $1 million. So if you start now, and finish your streak before December 31, you could win $1 million -- as long as nobody beat you to it.

Prizes
Think you can win? Here's what you're playing for (see Official Rules for full details):

* GRAND PRIZE: $1,000,000 dollars to the first entry to build a streak of 25 wins in a row.
* 2ND PRIZE: $10,000 dollars to the entry with the longest streak at the end of the contest period (which was not the Grand Prize entrant).
* MONTHLY PRIZE (4): $2,500 per month to the entry with the most wins.

So, are you ready to put your sports prognostication skills to the ultimate test?
