A buddy and I were having a great discussion the other day. Is ESPN good or bad for sports??

I tend to think it's become a bad thing. It's all gossip and drama these days, not stats and sports. It's like ESPN has become the TMZ of the sports industry. ^<<^

I'm interested to hear other peoples take on this topic.

absolutely good IMO..

I agree with what you are saying Killa, i mean who tweets what is overthe top...

But think about. If you have guys over and you turn on the tv to ESPN for background noise.... It keeps others informed.

Plus how they preview everything is good for sports.. increases hype and ratings.

Sports would be no where as big as it is today with out ESPN. Where would we watch our Thursday night WAC games? ESPN's baseball (sunday night ect) is the only channel thats had reg season prime time MLB games for a while.

ESPN is great for sports...

And maybe its not a sport, but look what it did to poker. ESPN IS POWERFUL!

its great for sports.
do you want to go to the days when you where only allowed to see one game a week on a saturday?

ESPN is the reason we are able to see any game we wish to see.
