Last season don't quite go as planned with a loss for the year, my first in several seasons. I don't typically produce a significant profit in soccer, but I've been rather consistent with 2-4% ROI. I dug myself into a deep hole taking some poor posistions heading into the campaign, like fading Southampton. I was pleased with how I closed fighting back from down about 15 units and getting back to even before dropping a couple more.

I'll try to get some comments up prior to the 10:00 matches. I just got back home from the west coast and need to try and sleep even though I'm wide awake.

Taking a position with the Spanish giants today. Real's away form is well documented along with Roma's resurgence, but I just don't value the Italian side in any way. Their recent win streak has primarily come against relegation sides in an already watered down Serie A. The level of play in Italy has been sliding for years IMO and the Italian side plays horrendous defensive football. Much has been made of their home group stage draw with Barca, but Roma was severely outplayed in the match and very fortunate to steal the point.

Away wins are never easy to come by at this stage, but I expect Real to flex their muscle early and put Roma on their heels. Real has been less than impressive away from home, but it shouldn't matter in this match up as Roma are wildly overvalued IMO and recieving far too much love from the masses heading into this match.

As for Gent, I'm just not in love with the direction Wolfsburg are headed and find them to be consistent overpriced in the Bundesliga of late. Will it carry over today, we will see, but I'm willing to continue the fade, especially away from home.

Looking for an open, attacking match here where both sides will push forward. Favor the home side who are sneaky good in Brussels. The draw was also attractive, but gaining too much moment from the media/online pundits for my sake.
