The big guns really didn't look impressive from what I heard or saw. I missed United and Arsenal, but did catch all of the Liverpool match and parts of the City match. I'm an Everton supporter and wasn't the slightest bit surprised they dropped points away from home in a match they were "supposed" to win.

I was definitely buying into the Van Gall hype, not saying I'm not now, but I didn't expect a loss at home to Swansea. I thought I read it's United first league loss in an opener since the early 70's, is that possible?

Quick thoughts....

I'm still wary of Palace with some of the turmoil there and the Hammers were on a side I had my eye this off-season as a possible surprise

As an Everton supporter, Arsenal have probably been our biggest headache of the giants in English football. They will likely play well today, but fail to get the job done and settle for a point at Goodison

The Championship plays are driven off a bit too much love for the home sides in the line, Rotherham at near +300 and Reading at over +300 are just a bit too pricey and worth a shot IMO

Schalke have been a mess, so I'll keep fading them until they prove otherwise. I actually had a very small play against them in the Pokal at around +500 from Dynamo Dresden. Draw play is a straight play from the model that suggests a high probability for a draw in that match.

Almeria and Montpellier are plays on the line, which are understated for the home sides based on my analysis. My lines suggest Almeria should be closer to +100 and Montpellier closer to -160.

Watching Newcastle miss opportunity after opportunity at Villa at the moment....

Quick thoughts....

Georgia are usually tough at home, but can't get over the hump and Ireland are notorious for blowing these type of matches. Even with the expansion of the tournament they won't get in.

Greece are always tough in qualifying and I'm struggling to see much progression from the once proud Romanians.

Portugal are notorious slow starters in qualifying and this Albanian side has a bit of grit to them, I'll take the 1.5 at plus money.

Should be an excellent qualifying campaign.

was thinking of another post-RM match letdown for atletico but tough to rate OLY without campbell and saviola up front like last year.

might pull the trigger on leverkusen myself. seen monaco play 2x this year and they are really struggling
