I am for legalized pot, heroin, cocaine and alcohol while knowing full well the consumption of each increases the risk for negative outcomes for the user and those who come in contact with the user. I am for it all being legal because i believe the only time the government should dictate what someone else does isnwhen that person is infringing on someone else.
With that said ... It is a bit incomplete to say no one died from smoking pot. The suicide rate for regular pot users compared to nonusers is very ugly. There is the question of which came first, the chicken or the egg. In other words, there are probably some high risk suicide people trying to selfmedicate with pot which skews the numbers but you get the idea. Higher high school drop out rate, lower college acceptance rate, higher teen pregnancy rate, higher abortion rate, higher rate of violent crime and much higher rate of property crime, lower earnings after entering workforce, etc etc etc...it has positive impacts for some people but even most users who have kids don't want their kids to do it and that is pretty telling
