I understand its you right and all not to answer that question. But jeez talk about giving people a hard time for doing there job....whether you agree with that job or not.
I guess I just don't take it personally when a cop wants to know whether I'm a citizen or not.
I've been pulled over by Border Patrol before in northern VT. My wife and I were leaving a friends house who lived about 2 miles form Canada. It was around 11:00 at night.
I had been drinking, not a lot, but enough that I was over the limit. He was nice enough, asked us if we were citizens, asked us if we had crossed the border, and asked if he could look into the bed of my pickup because I had a tonneau cover and he couldn't see in it. I complied nicely with all of his requests because If I hadn't he would have questioned me further and I didn't need that in the condition I was in. Definitely made me nervous but it was harmless enough I guess. The whole thing lasted a minute. He clearly had no interest in my condition, just wanted to make sure we were not illegals or hiding any.
