Nice easy win for Chelsea....

NEWCASTLE to beat leeds at 2.37
Leeds has really sucked this pre-season. They went 0-0 against Bristol City, 1-1 with York City, 2-2 with Bradford Park Avenue and lost 4-2 against Burnley and lastly 2-0 against Hull City. I admit that the coach was merely experimenting but give me a break, thats just pathetic. Leeds have been on a huge slump for the past season. Not surprinsingly they also have huge debts. I expect them to finish probably around 15th place this season and who knows, even a small wager on them being relegated (5/1). The team is in turmoil with Viduka wanting to leave and Martyn being allowed to leave. THis will hurt their confidence. Newcastle, on the other hand, are a team on the rise. They have played 2 real pre-season games against good opposition including a 2-1 win over Birmingham and a 0-0 draw against Chelsea. They played very well against Partizan winning 1-0 and are one step closer to the lucrative Champions League. This will increase the morale of the club.

Newcastle should win 2-0

more picks to come...

The game of the weekend for me is Liverpool vs Chelsea.

Chelsea have just had a cash injection from a Russian Billionaire, Abromavich. They have bought £74 million GBP worth of players in the last month - more than the rest of the league put together.

Everyone will be expecting Chelsea to do the business but a good bet would be to back Liverpool. Chelsea may have the talent but they have only played together once.

Couple this with a Newcastle win and you can get up to about 6/1.

I am based in the UK and the premiership is my life. I will be off to see Man Utd v Bolton this weekend, where the Premiership trophy will be paraded. If anyone is interested, I don't mind posting my opinions more regularly.

Adding...no brainer here...2 team parlay
1) MAN UTD to beat bolton at 1.28

Man Utd must be in high spirits after a very sucessful pre-season run in the US and defending the premiership. What a great way to start off the new season, at home and against a mediocre opponent who luckily avoided relegation last season. New Brazilian world cup winner Kleberson, Portuguese, Ronaldo and Djemba-Djemba are set for the bench while more experienced players fight out this one. One or two of them might get a run around in the second half, who knows.

Lucky for Man Utd, Bolton wont have new signing Jardel playing as he is yet to take a fitness test. Djorkaeff and Okacha (in particular) are Bolton's biggest and probably, only, major threats. Contain those 2 and Man Utd will easily win the game, in my opinion.
I see this being an one-sided contest and I seriously doubt that Bolton will make this 3 wins in a row at Old Trafford.

Not much value in this bet, i know, but I can see Man Utd starting the season with a big blowout just to prove to the rest of the top 4 that it wont be easy snatching the title from them. Also looking at the Under 3....

Prediction: Man Utd 2-0 or 3-0

2) ARSENAL to beat everton at 1.40
Originally I thought Everton might have a chance to draw but looking at their team list, I changed my mind, as they have some serious injury problems. For example, the only fit strikers are Chadwick and Radzensky...something happens to one of them, they are screwed. Big upset is Rooney not playing, would have been nice to see him play Arsenal again after what he did the last time he was at Highbury.
Arsenal's only problem concerns defence as Keown isnt playing but with Everton's attacking force diminished, its not a huge problem. Arsenal still have that potent attack led by Henry, Pires, ljunberg and Viera.
Too much for Everton!

Arsenal win 2-0 or 3-0 like Man Utd

Definetly the best game of the weekend...

liverpool to draw with chelsea at 3.25

Both very balanced teams and with strong defences. Last time teams played liverpool won 1-0. Liverpool rely too much on Owen to score and when he's out of form, games usually stay low scoring. Chelsea still need time to gel and will probably approach this game cautiously.
0-0 scoreline, good value on odds for draw.

1 unit to win 2.25

May add another later...

Adding:
MIDDLESBORO even ball over fulham at 2.10
Both teams have injury worries. Fulham are without captain Melville and Davis while Boro are without Maccarone, Ehiogu in particular (with addition to Ricketts and Queudrue).
I have a feeling Fulham will have a tough year in the premiership. Their coach is inexperienced and there have been no new signings. Boro should have a slight edge as I think they are the better team.

Boro wins 2-1
1 unit to win 1.10
