MIAMI HURRICANS +7 -132
Really, really like the Hurricanes in this matchup tonight. You ask "Why Miami?" and I'd tell you you should back the team that has won 3 of the last four games played at FSU and in the one game they lost it was only a 10-7 game. I like the fact that third-year coach Randy Shannon starts sophomore QB Jacory Harris without QB Robert Marve in the background. All Harris has done in his football career is win and now this is his team. Harris has a 31-1 record as a starter in High School and college. The Hurricanes also return 8 starters on offensive and have a very deep WR and RB group (Cooper and James). Their defense also returns 8 starters from last year.
FSU will enter the game having lost its top 3 tacklers from last year and have also will be without a few players to injury. That said, Christian Ponder had a decent year last year but almost threw as many interceptions as touchdowns. He also only hit his target 55.7% of the time. Yes, the Seminoles return all 5 starters on the offensive line and yes Ponder can run but will that be enough?
I think the key in this game is Miami's ability to get to the QB and FSU's protection of their Junior QB. Can Miami contain him and keep him in the pocket or will he bust lose? Either way I think this game comes down to a FG.
