MIAMI HURRICANS +7 -132

Really, really like the Hurricanes in this matchup tonight. You ask "Why Miami?" and I'd tell you you should back the team that has won 3 of the last four games played at FSU and in the one game they lost it was only a 10-7 game. I like the fact that third-year coach Randy Shannon starts sophomore QB Jacory Harris without QB Robert Marve in the background. All Harris has done in his football career is win and now this is his team. Harris has a 31-1 record as a starter in High School and college. The Hurricanes also return 8 starters on offensive and have a very deep WR and RB group (Cooper and James). Their defense also returns 8 starters from last year.

FSU will enter the game having lost its top 3 tacklers from last year and have also will be without a few players to injury. That said, Christian Ponder had a decent year last year but almost threw as many interceptions as touchdowns. He also only hit his target 55.7% of the time. Yes, the Seminoles return all 5 starters on the offensive line and yes Ponder can run but will that be enough?

I think the key in this game is Miami's ability to get to the QB and FSU's protection of their Junior QB. Can Miami contain him and keep him in the pocket or will he bust lose? Either way I think this game comes down to a FG.

Key Stats:

The dog in this game as not only covered in the last 7 matchups but actually won the game outright.

Miami is 30-23 SU against FSU.

Miami is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games.

Miami is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games in Tallahassee.

FSU is 11-20 ATS in their last 31 games as a favorite.

Off to a solid start so let's keep it rolling tonight. I'm going to go with a fairly unpopular play tonight but one I think is very solid.

I like playing the "under" early on in the year especially in conference games. I just feel the defenses are way ahead of the offenses especially in a tight game where both programs are fairly familiar with one another. Tonight you have two teams that scored 37 points a piece in their first game last weekend. That's 37 points against total cupcake opponents. GT fumbled the ball 5 times and dropped several passes and both teams gave up a grand total of 31 points last week against those cupcakes.

I do like GT's squad of Nesbitt and Dwyer but if Clemson can at least contain the option then the clock continues to tick away. Clemson has shown they can stop the run and did so in their first game only giving up 92 yards. They have CJ Spiller in the lineup but he was injured in the first game of the year so I'm not so sure he's entirely healthy. Take that and mix it with starting a redshirt freshman and you have problems.

Just take a look at the scores of the outcomes of these team's last four meetings and tell me what the play is...(31-7, 13-3, 21-17 and 10-9).

GT/CLEMSON UNDER THE TOTAL OF 44

Key Stats:
Clemson has given up 21 or fewer in 11 of its last 12 regular season games.
Under is 7-1 in Clemson's last 8 Thursday games.
Under is 7-2 in Clemson's last 9 conference games.
Under is 15-5 in GATCH last 20 Thu. games
Under is 6-2 in GATCH last 8 conference games

If you are talking about CM Pats that guy is not me. If you notice.. his handle is spelled differently. Not cool to try and call someone out without knowing the small details is it?

Now that I really think about it your comment pisses me off. I post at 3 forums and at those 3 forums my picks are exactly the same. I post here and at two other forums that begin with "T" and "B".

You didn't do your research and tried to call me out instead of maybe sending me a PM and asking me. There is a guy named en fuego at CM that posts plays and that guy is not me and I don't even post regular plays there.

Do your research before you call a poster out on a forum.

I wasn't calling you out and no disrespect was intended. I was just curious as to why. I noticed half the plays were the same as you posted here and I was just wondering if the additional plays on the other site were ones you liked also. You are easily one of the better cappers here and I look at your picks because you are usually on the wining end. I'm sorry if you thought I was bashing you. That was not my intent. Good luck the rest of the season.:toast:
