There's also been a firewall between what they want and what the people they vote for want. I.e old whites like Pelosi, Schumer, Reid can get their vote but not really have to give them much of value. Well, now as they become a bigger and more impactful demographic (and have their own growing special interest groups to boot), they're going to want people that actually look like them and will truly fight for what they want. I.e Cortez in Brooklyn.

I think most of what I said in this thread probably can't fit into the Overton Window, but I don't think it really needs to.
The argument for less mass migration should be made more along populist economic lines rather than cultural preservation lines.
A way to stop wage suppression, multi-lingual schools making it harder to educate, crowded hospitals, rising housing costs, the rise of automation meaning we need less low-end labor, environmental preservation, say oligarchs in both parties want it and are greedy, etc

Yeah, definitely. When you have that type of scenery, the best/brightest/most creative/intelligent people are going to want to flock there despite the high taxation and other liberal initiatives. This is why so much industry has concentrated there. You're always gonna have rich people that will pay those extra taxes to live in Malibu. Hoboken though? GL w/ that.
I didn't say it is sustainable, but it gets away with it "better than most" because of that reason. It's a great place to live when you take politics out of the equation.
CBS News this weekend ran a story about how 2x more people are now coming through our Canadian border. A flight from Mex City to Tor, BC, or Mtl can run b/w 300-400 dollars and then folks are just walking or canoeing across with very few border patrol agents to stop them.
