Big Nick Lowe fan here, hardly a one hit wonder, "So it goes" got a ton of airplay on progressive FM stations back in the day, "Breaking Glass" did well.

And how about "I knew the bride"?

What some don't know Lowe produced the legendary Elvis Costello and the Attractions, not to mention Chrissie Hynes band the Prentenders.

p.s. I think "Cruel" was technically 1979, but I could be wrong.

Cruel was 1979. Never remembered his other stuff at release, know them now. Can see the influence in Costello's songs. Wasn't familiar with him and The Pretenders.

Nick Lowe was great in front of the scenes but a 'monster' behind the scenes.

These guys were much more than this song and had a couple of great records along with fantastic gigs. The lead singer (John Griffith) is currently playing guitar in the band "Cowboy Mouth". The Red Rockers (like Cowboy Mouth) were from New Orleans. They relocated their base to Boston around 1985/6, but called it quits shortly thereafter.
