Brand's stats aren't that much better than Marion's. Similar FG%, more assists for Brand, more steals for Matrix, more points for Brand, more boards for Matrix. Brand gets plays called for him, Matrix generally does not. Brand doesn't have as much help though. Frankly I don't think either Brand or Nash deserve the MVP. Then again last year I thought Dirk deserved it. If I had a vote this year I would go with LeBron.

No way in hell Brand should win it. If you want to give it to someone on a mediocre team like the Clippers, then Kobe wins it hands down. Way better than Brand ever dreamed about being, and he is so much more valuable than Brand it is a ridiculous discussion to begin with.

To be the MVP, you are probably going to have some talent on your team. Nash was a controversial MVP pick last year. Since last year, he has lost J Johnson, Stoudemire, and Richardson. The team hasn't lost a beat and he is the single biggest reason.

If you use the reason that Brand has less talent on his team, then Kobe should be ahead of him. The Lakers roster is garbage compared to the Clippers.
