almost 2 years ago to the day Biden signed that creepy infrastructure bill providing $10B for the immediate building of supercharger stations across the USA. I've been through PA, WV, OH, and KY recently and did not see ONE of them. Where'd all this money go?
Biden’s $$ laundering. Treasonous basturd

Ford Slices F-150 Lightning Production in Half

If you want a true full-size electric pickup truck, you really only have one option right now. That’s the Ford F-150 Lightning. But it seems that not enough buyers even want that, and Ford is cutting lightning production in half ahead of 2024.

This is a Tesla model Y battery. It takes up all of the space under the passenger compartment of the car.
To manufacture it you need:
* 12 tons of rock to extract the Lithium.
* 5 tons of rock to obtain the cobalt minerals (Most cobalt is made as a by product of the processing of copper and nickel ores. It is the most difficult material to obtain for a battery and the most expensive.)
* 3 tons of nickel ore
* 12 tons of copper ore
You must move 250 tons of soil to obtain:
* 26.5 pounds of Lithium
* 30 pounds of nickel
* 48.5 pounds of manganese
* 15 pounds of cobalt
To manufacture the battery also requires:
* 441 pounds of aluminium, steel and/or plastic
* 112 pounds of graphite
The Caterpillar 994A is used for the earthmoving to obtain the essential minerals. It consumes on average of 264 gallons of diesel in 12 hours.
Finally, you get a “zero emissions” car.
Presently, the bulk of the necessary minerals for manufacturing the batteries come from China or Africa. If we buy electric cars, it’s China who profits most!
This 2021 Tesla Model Y OEM battery (the cheapest Tesla battery) is currently for sale on the internet in the USA for $4,999 not including shipping or installation. The battery weighs 1,000 pounds (you can imagine the shipping cost).
The cost to replace Tesla batteries is:
Model 3 — $14,000+ (Car MSRP $38,990)
Model Y — $5,000–$5,500 (Car MSRP $47,740)
Model S — $13,000–$20,000 (Car MSRP $74,990)
Model X — $13,000+ (Car MSRP $79,990)
It takes SEVEN years for an electric car to reach net-zero CO2. The life expectancy of the batteries is 10 years (average).
Only in the last three years do you begin to reduce your carbon footprint. Then the batteries must be replaced, and you lose all the gains you made in those three years.
In addition, electric cars are heavier than cars powered by internal combustion engines and cause more wear and tear on tires, bridges, and roads. They also increase the demand for electricity much of which in countries like China and India is generated by coal-fired power stations.
Question is, are Tesla’s and other similar electric cars really that green?

At least 18 EV and battery startups that went public in recent years were at risk of running out of cash by the end of 2024 as of their most recent filings, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis. They include companies such as Nikola and Fisker, which attracted investors with bold promises to transform the industry and fight climate change with their electric trucks and SUVs

A reported group of 3,700 American auto dealers have signed a letter to the president declaring it's "time to tap the breaks on the unrealistic government electric vehicle mandate." The dealers, calling themselves the EV Voice of the Customer, argue cars are piling up in their lots thanks to the high cost of EVs, lack of garages equipped for home charging, the time these cars take to charge — and their fluctuating driving range. Repairs and auto insurance for EVs also remain punitively high at the moment due to electric cars’ higher price tags and more complex equipment.

“Dealers will sell whatever is manufactured,” he said. “But we’ve never seen a situation where government has intervened in such a draconian way.”

Warning: Never buy a townhouse or semi-detached house in this era of hazardous EVs.

If your neighbor has an EV and it catches fire, the entire block, including your home, will go up in flames through no fault of your own.

Or imagine parking garage fires from one of these. It's gonna happen and insurance companies will love them!

Just another reality people have to face in this super awesome era of "Chinese batteries"

:rolleyes:

Skelleftea Sweden, named one of the 20 most sustainable cities in the world (lol) announced they must suspend public transportation because its too cold for their city buses, a 100% electric fleet, to finish a route before the battery is drained.

guess they didn't follow the science...

Drivers are advised not to rely too heavily on their EV’s central heating system during the winter. Doing so drains the battery faster and affects the range. most EVs will experience a 40% efficiency loss in cold weather. Freezing temperatures also affect an EV’s charging times, potentially increasing them by up to 300%.

what a scam....you can't charge your battery >80% or let it go <20% or you risk your warranty coverage and if you live in a cold weather state/country it will take 3x the amount of energy to charge it and then you'll lose nearly half the range when you run it especially if you use the heat while driving to work in the winter

Chicago-area Tesla charging stations lined with dead cars in freezing cold: 'A bunch of dead robots out here'

Desperate Tesla owners in and around Chicago were seen trying to charge their vehicles with no luck amid frigid temperatures that have gripped the Midwest. "Nothing. No juice. Still on zero percent," Tyler Beard, who had been trying to recharge his Tesla at an Oak Brook, Illinois Tesla supercharging station since Sunday afternoon, told the news outlet. "And this is like three hours being out here after being out here three hours yesterday.
